  1. Yeah, 81 inches in February, but then March crapped the bed with "only" 17.
  2. From 2/25/10-2/28/10, Randolph recorded 57.1" of snow. LOL
  3. 2020 is just full of surprises, isn't it?
  4. The CoCoRaHS site in my sig averaged 185" over the past 10 years.
  5. Oh yeah, that’s where the snow snobs in the DC/BAL corridor live. Lording their 35 inch averages over the rest of us!
  6. Imagine being a snow weenie who just bought a house at 1,500 ft on Dalton Ridge and you log in here to see @ORH_wxman calling it a total pit. haha
  7. @ORH_wxman saved me from buying 30 acres in the middle of the woods in Whitefield. Dodged a bullet there as a snow weenie. I would have been sick reading this forum.
  8. It would certainly be a gut punch for us snow weenies. For 99% of people, it would be fine. LOL
  9. Looks like it is around 1400 ft or so if it’s on Dalton Ridge. Good view if you can avoid the snow hole for sure.
  10. Everyone shifted south in terms of climo. DCA is RIC. RIC is RDU. BWI is DCA. RDU is ATL. Adjust accordingly.
  11. The local guy up here who works on my house said that the Town and Country Inn in Shelburne is your best bet. That endorsement may be a bad thing or a good thing. There are some really rustic folks up here and standards may be different... I stayed at Carlsons Lodge in Carroll about 15 years ago. It was fine but can’t speak to quality now. It looks well kept from the outside.
  12. No expiration date, but the fine print says you need to bring a HECS of equal or greater value with you for your stay.
  13. Yep, it’s dry out there. Feels a little like CT.
  14. 240 inches in Randolph that winter. I will accept that.
  15. Dry September is fine by me. When it precipitates in September, things turn into a muddy, mushy mess. Wet, dead leaves pasted on everything and turning into a soup. Dry, clear, cool air is what I want. Later in October the windy rainstorms can start up, sure.
  16. The radiational cooling difference won't be as meaningful when socked in with clouds and snow falling. Precip will be king.
  17. 46 now. Drop has slowed, as usual. Probably end up around 37-39 or thereabouts.
  18. 48/39 here. Better drop than last night so far.
  19. In Randolph? Is it still breezy? 43f Yep. Winds stayed up around 10mph all evening. Low was 35. It's pretty typical for here. Always breezy overnight and not good for radiating.
  20. I would move to the high desert, for sure. My wife and I dreamed of a house in the high terrain of New Mexico, but the notion of having to fly there every time turned us off. I love the dry climate. California? No way.
