  1. Radar looks pretty good. Seems to be throwing precip back a little further west than the truly crappy runs had. Hate these storms where it rains first, always takes a while to overcome that heat release and really pile up the snow. The models tend to just assume as soon as it flips to snow it will start piling up...
  2. Closing in on an inch on some surfaces. No wind to speak of yet. Dead calm, really. 31 degrees with moderate snow. Seems to be increasing in intensity again.
  3. Really looking forward to seeing his obs tomorrow. I will go up that way in a bit and see what's going on in comparison to here. This is definitely the sort of event where that extra 200 feet can make a difference, at least with this early marginal part.
  4. It's definitely whiter here in person than the fisheye view on the cam gives you. That thing can be a little deceiving.
  5. Grass and decks are turning white now, but it is definitely still wet out there. It's just slightly below freezing on the PWS and there is plenty of warmth in the ground still. I actually figured things wouldn't get rolling until the afternoon so this all feels reasonably ahead of schedule to me. Prime time is supposed to be evening and overnight here as the low bombs off Maine, It's 36 and plain rain down in Gorham. Would much rather have this than that!
  6. Plain rain and 36 degrees just down the hill in Gorham. Brutal.
  7. It worked! The snow gods sometimes will give a weenie snow just to shut him up for a bit.
  8. Fire roaring, whiskey in my coffee, sitting by the picture windows looking out at moderate snow falling. This is it, folks!
  9. My cam. https://video.nest.com/live/URwoSmP3dg mod snow 31 degrees. Hoping for 15”+ with upslope fluff on top. Hopefully something pans out for you guys soon. It’s been a hell of a long wait.
  10. Flake size just got better and intensity ticked up. Mod snow 31 degrees. Looks like the show is starting here. Grass and decks starting to whiten.
  11. Shoulda done that yesterday instead of just posting clown snow maps all day. LOL
  12. I can definitely see a scenario now where we "underperform" with the cement phase of this but get 5 inches of high-ratio fluff after the low has moved away to put us over the top. It isn't going to be well-forecast by the models, but they show lingering snow over the usual spots for quite a while even as the low heads well off into the great unknown. Should be neat, really makes it a two-phase event.
  13. That's basically the metric I use. Probably not perfect but those are the best markers I have. Light is usually when about half the mountain is gone, roughly speaking. And flurries I can count. LOL
  14. ORH is crushing. You guys all snow down there still?
  15. I figured as the winds shift NW a death band will get jammed up against the northern greens, at least. I am still learning climo around here, but that just seems like something I'd expect to see later on with this event, accompanied by highly-accurate J. Spin obs piling up the totals. LOL I will keep an eye out on radar for it.
  16. Cam link is back up. https://video.nest.com/live/URwoSmP3dg Light snow here at the moment, 31 degrees.
  17. LOL I know. It's incredible. I am over here running around troubleshooting my rickety Internet setup. I think it might be on Nest's side.
  18. Temp is 31 now. Very happy with the quick temp drop here.
  19. Mountains are totally obscured now. It is down for some reason. I think I need to restart the router.
