  1. Hmm, I guess you are right. I have never looked that closely at the topo map over there. I know they do not seem to do as well with upslope just based on driving past there up to my house, which is a frequent occurrence. I swear it feels like I have to climb back up from there to my house in the car. But maybe it's just an illusion. I don't really know of any good obs from that area so impossible to say how they do on the averages. I'm sure there are little neighborhoods tucked here and there around the area that are snow heavens. Just need to have ORH_wxman tell you about them. LOL
  2. The Gorham Walmart parking lot has one of the best views in the entire area, BTW. LOL
  3. About 15 mins to the town line. But I have a significant elevation advantage.
  4. Yeah Gorham Heights is one such area for sure. My plow guy lives over there and his weather is similar to here.
  5. The only way that is accurate is if it was “Gorham Heights” which is right across rt 2 from me. Some of those guys live a decent ways up the side of Pine Mountain and should have weather similar to here. That’s about as close to actual Gorham as I am.
  6. LOL Gorham did not have 15 inches. I was just down there. Unless like 13 inches melted away this afternoon.
  7. It’d be nice if they had the data for those numbers. You can’t really see where they even are. I’m usually a little wary of numbers from the ski resort PR people, for example.
  8. Getting a decent burst of almost moderate snow here now. 20 degrees and breezy.
  9. I saw that too but dendrite said it was just the Presidentials blocking the beam from GYX.
  10. There are some gusts here but nothing epic. Some nice light snow falling now at 20 degrees. Very wintry day. Basically localized to Randolph Hill. Other nearby areas have basically nothing, which is just nuts to me.
  11. North Conway recorded 0.1” What a bust there. Seems almost unbelievable. Randolph is the only site in NH that verified the forecast.
  12. Looks like Randolph is the highest total in New England on CoCoRaHS so far.
  13. Looking at CoCoRaHS it appears I was the highest total in New England.
  14. 14.4 for Randolph from the COOP guy.
  15. I have heavily-laden trees swinging wildly here. My power line coming to the barn and then underground to my house is holding strong. It's kind of amazing. My power in MD would have been out by now. Eversource FTW here.
  16. I have a poor memory for such things, but it seems to be faster in this event. In fact, I have spent some time this evening envisioning how I reached nearly 3 feet in some of those MD HECS, because this New England snow with the bands rotating "backwards" off the ocean into my backyard has been something else entirely. I think it is a duration difference between those events.
  17. It's been piling up faster than I can recall ever seeing. Every time I walk out there it's another inch or two it seems. It's gotta be 13-15 at least now. Also blowing into huge drifts now.
