  1. I lost it all. I didn't have 40 inches OTG. About 12" here north of the Presidentials. Some of the pictures from central VT and NH are heart-breaking. Beautiful thick packs with straight edge shovel and snowblower lines on the walkways wiped out overnight.
  2. I can't wait to directly connect the atmospheric river from Nassau to the river in my backyard. That's North Country livin' at it's finest!
  3. I felt better about this storm when I checked out what was going on with it in eastern Canada. Total shitshow way north of the border. We missed this one by thousands of miles. LOL
  4. Don't worry, this storm's little brother will arrive soon.
  5. Agreed, I am hoping for a little surprise this week. Would raise spirits.
  6. Here's my early January forecast for NNE.
  7. Just spread some butter on that moldy bread, will taste just fine.
  8. I guess it hasn't really been a terrible winter yet in terms of raw snow totals. Randolph is slightly north of 40" now I believe. But these cutters are just brutal. Averages being what they are, I assume we are due to get clobbered here fairly soon. Having seen a small taste of how wintry it can be here, it really hurts to get these tropical systems. In MD I was used to this BS, but up here it feels abnormal. These cutters also seem worse than in MD. They hit harder and last longer IMO. The cold fronts drag and drag. Longitude is a bitch in these setups.
  9. Technically speaking, 50 degree rain would have been colder.
  10. It got hung up just as the axis of heaviest rains oriented over NE...
  11. The GFS and CMC show the cutter too, just they have a little snow on the backside (bread and butter to cover the mudslides LOL). So it seems pretty locked-in. Just sick.
  12. I don’t need an epic pattern. I just need whatever pattern it is that doesn’t flood tropical rain deep into central/eastern Canada every few weeks.
  13. I just want it drier with some upslope and FROPAs. That's all. Hopefully New Years is truly the last of these cutters.
  14. I am hoping the cold front is coming up from the SW and pushes that blob of heavy rain in SNE and off the coast to the west before it all trains over us.
  15. In a lull for a while, but starting up again. No power issues or wind damage here. Just a small amount of water in my two troublesome windows.
  16. Stopped raining here and brightened a bit. Maybe I am getting downsloped. Good.
  17. Even the Jay Peak crew knows they need a big storm with meaty snow at this point. Moose fart snow is awesome but can’t overcome a cutter cold/warm pattern like this. It’s better as window dressing and to freshen up the pack, not create it.
  18. These huge holiday rainers are wearing me down. I can’t butter my bread with upslope enough to offset these beasts.
  19. And I live in NNE and after the NYE cutter that will be three huge rainstorms since the snow season started. I’m sure it will correct at some point, but a dry FROPA instead of an atmospheric river tropical storm would be a nice change of pace.
  20. Is there some spot further west that is absolutely crushing it in these cutters? Is the Midwest forum having the winter of a lifetime someplace?
