Yeah, looked like a step to the GFS to me.

It definitely has a different look from this last storm. It’s close enough that the low is in the area and not headed to the North Pole. Still time for this to keep shifting SE too.

The 06z GFS shows a legit snowstorm for parts of NNE on New Years, FWIW (probably not much).

GFS has been slowly showing a colder solution for way up here, and especially Vermont, for the last few runs. Perhaps it can pull off a miracle.

We appear to be stuck in a classic cool/dry and warm/wet pattern now.

GFS starting to look a little more interesting for New Years for northern NNE, at least.

This storm should have its memory stricken from the record and never be spoken of again. Why on earth would I want to terrorize my own grandchildren with tales of this wretched fail-storm?

I can smell Miami, New Orleans, and Atlanta on that modified stale cool air. Glad they shared some with the northern tropics.

Bretton Woods has seemed pretty light the days I have been there. Only lines are at the gondola which is always the case with those damn things (I hate them ). Having crowds I’m sure feels like a mixed blessing in the current environment. Tough situation. I am teaching young kids to ski this season so I am OK with the limited terrain. Works out OK for me luckily.

Very different storm there from here. I gusted to 60 overnight and recorded 3 inches of liquid.

Maybe just the eggnog talking, but the 18z GFS looks to at least be trying to give us snow on New Years. The front comes through faster than this last POS.

I was just thinking about blow over from the guns when they are going full blast. I assume the measuring is somewhere separate and protected.

Honest question: aren’t the totals from these ski resorts kinda biased by snowmaking? Is it somehow kept totally separate?

Same thing as models spitting out ice storms at 31.5 degrees.
