It would be good for the friendship of the forum if the SE SNE could cash in on a little something Sunday and then northern sections cash in Tuesday. I think 12z was the high-water mark of the comeback for this thing. Just too much to overcome.

The snow here is like an Antarctic drill core sample. Compressed and heavy. There is like 4" of water in the bottom foot I think. My truck was encased pretty solidly in the crust this morning. I didn't notice the freezing drizzle in the late evening so I guess it hit overnight.

There is still definitely something weird about the off-hour runs, especially the 06z. Storms frequently come back or disappear entirely during that cycle. I'm sure the stats show there is no difference, like the stats say the UKMET is the second best model. Sure, NWP experts, okie dokie...

This is the first model run in a while that didn't come NW. May be a burp or start of the drift back SE.

The clouds lifted out just as we were leaving Cannon today too. Good conditions there. The snow certainly helped them. I don't have any pictures to even begin to rival PF's, I'm afraid.

If the trends so far hold, by 00z we should have some solid hits on some of the other models (other than the NAM) and by 06z we should be back in full swing. Fingers crossed.

The RGEM is one of the easiest models to hug when it looks good and toss when it looks bad without giving it a second thought. The thing is just that versatile.
