  1. It'll be fun to watch. As long as it's all well-below freezing at the surface, it's fine. Seems like I avoid any ZR too, which is useless. The pack should be flattened into a solid mass after this. Then Thursday we can start adding fluff back on top.
  2. Temps are well below freezing up in our area so basically I am treating this as a pack consolidator. It will make it even more bulletproof to add 6 inches of snow and sleet. I am also guessing I stay snow a little longer than the models show. That has been the pattern all winter here in marginal events. Jackson, Berlin, even the ski places turn before me.
  3. LOL at the skiing advice bit. Same issue here. My wife tried to teach our kids how to ski by starting with long lectures on the bunny hill about proper form, how to get up after a fall, how to walk sideways back up the hill, how to take off your skis and walk down when scared... zero progress. If she could have wheeled a chalkboard out onto the hill to diagram some skiing equations she would have done so. I decided to try my way. I took each one up the lift and dropped them off at the top and we made our way down with zero communication; they knew they had to sink or swim here. I just told them to watch me and emulate. It instantly clicked into place and now they are skiing the entire mountain. Kids are sponges and they learn via experience and observation.
  4. The script did seem to totally flip, didn't it?
  5. This storm is garbage. Let's just get it out of here and move on.
  6. Another 30 on top of the 30 already on the ground sounds nice.
  7. Heavy sleet with temps in the low to mid 20s. Eh, whatever. The pack will just absorb that garbage. If this storm is going to crap now, I hope it fizzles out.
  8. Hopefully it all lines up for @dryslot. I am really pulling for him to get some snow. @Lava Rock too. Dude has been mega-shafted.
  9. A flush hit sure seems hard to come by. These storms are all flawed and taking stupid tracks.
  10. Thump to dry slot PL here. Temps never go above 22. Not a big deal. Will further encase the pack.
  11. More people need to start questioning this stuff or it will never end. My experience at the airport today was surreal. Everything was like it was 2019 again except you needed a little rag on your chin. It all seems pretty fake at this point.
  12. Not too worried here. The models were a little aggressive with the mix depiction for some of the other storms up here this year. Wildcat and Jackson may have pingers or ZR. I expect mostly snow, perhaps some sleet at the peak. No biggie. As long as I stay safely below freezing it's all gravy.
  13. As I’m standing elbow to elbow with dozens of other guys in the bathroom, or airport bar, or seated on the plane while everyone has a thin piece of cloth covering their mouth and hanging below their nose, I kinda start to question the COVID safety narratives still out there. Seems like theater to me.
  14. Several dogs on this packed flight back to MD. They are not service dogs. LOL Unless the “service” is keeping mentally-ill fur mom from having a breakdown. I hate when I have to go back to MD now. Clown world capital.
  15. A bunch of kids can sit on this totally full airplane for several hours but can’t sit in school for the same amount of time? Sure, makes perfect sense. Our world is so deranged right now. At least the dogs have seats.
  16. 12-20 for both events together this week. Final call.
  17. Another 6-10 here, I’m thinking.
  18. So do people fly with their dogs now? This is a thing, I guess? Sure, your mental health husky needs the entire exit row. okie dokie
  19. Not sure. It has been like that since I moved here. It is kinda jarring this time of year. But I guess they needed to log out that rectangle for some reason... We get great solar heating on sunny days. It can be 10 degrees out and the great room is like 80 and we want to crack a window. LOL
  20. Doesn't look too promising in March for Brooklyn, NY.
  21. A little snow to ice is fine. Just no 57 degree upslope-enhanced atmospheric rivers for 24 hours straight. Thanks.
  22. By Monday 12z runs, the ORH crew will be "surprised" to learn they are looking at 5-7".
