I definitely question some of the reports from Wildcat. Jay Peak is obviously distant from here and the weather can be very different. Wildcat’s climo is pretty similar to Randolph however and their reports leave me scratching my head sometimes. A lot of what Wildcat says and does is kinda weird to me. I assume there is some confusion this season with the Vail transition.

Zzzzzzzzzz Hopefully the wood chipper leaves for March. Persistence says it will only leave once it gets too warm to snow. Then the “atmospheric river” will return.

Whenever this debate comes up, I wonder about the difference between the mountain ops guy doing the measuring and the PR/marketing people running the social media accounts. At large resorts, I am assuming those are not the same people. That strikes me as one way a report of 3.6” new snow turns into the “3-6 new snow overnight” language on the snow report.

Two storms that mostly miss to the south? Lock it in. Those will be shredded pieces of shit by go time. The 00z runs overnight show basically nothing of note here for the next 2 weeks. Maybe some cutter chances at most.

No doubt, but I am hoping we don't just saltine with easy cheez all the way until mid-April. Another pot roast storm would be nice. Like 2 meaty SWFEs.

The wood chipper running over NNE has been persistent this winter and still looks to be active through the end of the month. Every slug of moisture that approaches is shredded and pushed SE at game time. Very consistent. Hope it runs out of gas for March.

That’s pretty good. About 115” here. Your 40” spot in December helps as mentioned before.

Same here, although we have been hanging around 30” depth for weeks. Basically zero pack progress in Feb but also basically no loss. I am hoping for a fun wound-up low with some wind soon.

Been snowing lightly here all day. Not amounted to much but nice to see.

Feb was pretty boring outside of the storm on the 1st. Total snoozer. Yeah, some bread and butter around but nothing special. Good snowpack and temp regime, however. Good for skiing. I hope March is active at least. Such a boring stretch but I still see signs the wood chipper is in place to shred storms.

“Petty” crime like this has seemingly been on the rise. Most teenagers have literally nothing to do anymore outside of being on their phones. That breeds low-level crime like this. Many other factors too.

The GYX disco as usual is far less bullish than the BTV disco and seems to mostly discuss how spring could be right around the corner, but the general gist is there about "chances" for "snow showers" in "the mountains." That's about as much as we usually get. The rest of the discussion is about how nice it is that storms are all missing to the south and it will be warmer. LOL 06z GFS looked really good for this week. Wetter than it had been.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Still big though. I assume this rover has much better tools for soil analysis and searching for organic molecules and the like.

Next week looks fairly active for the NNE mountains. Nothing big, but looks like continuous flakes in the air and a refresher of a few inches to cover up the hard part of the pack. Little impulses swing through Monday and Thursday with an upslope signal in between.

The real cold never even arrived, so no back to break. Temps were stuck between 15-25 here seemingly forever with just a few excursions below that. I get that the chicken and bamboo crowd might have a different outlook on this. LOL
