Wow... OK. Are you good with stores discriminating on other health status items, such as flu vaccination or if they have a cold? What about criminal record? Financial status? Or just this one thing and nothing else?
Sure, for fights to places such as Uganda and for extremely deadly diseases such as yellow fever. Not for domestic flights and to go into a store. Let’s not conflate these two very different things.
They are working to build consensus for continued lockdowns, social distancing, endless booster vaccines, and health passports. Once you learn to identify media propaganda tactics, it becomes sickening to see how they operate.
I go down there all the time. I can verify they didn't have any monster storms. Randolph beat them handily. Wildcat had rain at the summit in the mid-Jan storm I believe, which is just nuts to me. The early December storm was destroyed by Grinch, so that didn't help much with building a base. They did about as well as I did in the early Feb storm. Those three are literally it for notable synoptic events this winter. They seem to do OK with upslope sometimes at least which helped them get to 96".
My Ambient is pretty good. It serves the purpose. Sometimes a little wonky with the phone app and the base station requires reset. But usually reliable and seems decently accurate. The rain gauge can be way off in heavy/windy events which is a very common thing here. The anemometer seems OK, although there are no other obs around to compare to really; it never seems to do anything crazy and I mostly trust it. I'd recommend one if you are mostly looking for temp/humidity and don't want to spend much money.
I think we'd be OK too, but that's not what happens with vaccine passports, and I am not seeing our political leaders setting that metric and sticking to it.
COVID has been a total mess for employers. I have been dealing with legal issues and a flood of irrational, career-destroying behavior from employees. So many tweaked people out there. I cannot imagine what a customer-facing establishment like a hair salon or restaurant is dealign with between the general uncertainty, the employees, and the customers. It must be incredibly draining.
It's a ramp up in fear-mongering propaganda because fewer and fewer people will get the vaccine going forward in time. The initial rush of those who desperately needed or desperately wanted the vaccine will begin to wind down long before we get anywhere near 100% vaccinated. The efforts to "compel" those who have not received the vaccine yet are starting...
It should concern anyone who cares even the slightest bit about our rights as free adults.
This whole thing is about to go from a social media tiff to real anger and outbursts if one side of the debate tries to implement and enforce vaccine passports (a vaccine mandate) on the other half. People need to take a knee and think real hard about the past year and what has happened and what was promised by politicians and experts before going further, IMO.
Not a fan of where things are headed now, but I am in the minority on this, I guess, at least in terms of who is loudest on the Internet. Hope everyone enjoys their vaccine passports and continued lockdowns. I'm sure none of that can end badly for us.
