  1. Hoodies for miles up here in the North Country. It’s awesome.
  2. This is the kind of summer I want.
  3. Glad I had the chance to buy and read his book before he passed. It was an entertaining read. Clearly someone with a creative spirit and passion for weather. RIP.
  4. Big corporations, certain extremely wealthy foundations/individuals, various UN agencies and NGOs, govt agencies operating independently of any election are some examples. Being suspicious of these insanely wealthy/powerful groups and people who are totally untouchable through normal political processes does not make you a conspiracy theorist. A big dose of skepticism towards what the man on the TV is saying would do a lot of people a lot of good.
  5. I think your second paragraph is the best option for everyone, irrespective of whether you believe in any conspiracy theories or not. All people can do is move forward in their own way in their own lives. If shadowy elite figures are in charge, the best bet is to just withdraw from the societal silliness and protect your family and friends foremost.
  6. Are you guys seriously using a dead person to browbeat me?
  7. You can take the guilt trip stuff to that thread. Feel free to call me names in that space if you want.
  8. Big Pharma would never lie to you and peddle false fear porn to boost profits. The brave scientists at Moderna would never, ever do such a thing. You need to apologize.
  9. Reading severe talk in this subforum really reminds me of reading snow and cold talk in the SE subforum.
  10. Still 39 here. Pretty impressive for 10 AM on this date I think.
  11. That 160k can turn into 20k overnight if you aren't careful, though. One concern I would have about putting that much money into crypto is that you won't be able to get it back out as the coin starts to tank. Coinbase crashes, Binance crashes, Robinhood crashes...
  12. You are still talking to friends and family about COVID and vaccines? LOL We dropped that shit like a hot potato a couple weeks back. It's over, dude. Just live your life and stop nagging everyone.
  13. Was there more bad news for crypto? because it is dumping again...
  14. Bottomed out at 33. I wonder if Alex made it below freezing?
  15. Yeah, when the sun is going down that ridge is often brightly lit up, creating some really spectacular scenes, especially when there are some high clouds around too.
  16. They and Canada seem to have set the goal as zero cases. It's definitely a "competing in a triathlon while on a 30 day fast" kind of method. Just brutal, pointless, and probably unachievable.
  17. I am not seeing any reason they won't just keep doing this for the flu, colds, stomach viruses, pneumonia, etc if they are willing to lock a major city down tight over 26 cases of COVID.
  18. Meanwhile, Australia locks down its second-largest city over 26 cases... I find this to be just crazy. There is no way the benefits of this kind of regular lockdown outweighs the negatives for the economy, education, and mental health. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/melbourne-australia-set-4th-lockdown-cluster-grows-77935216
  19. Yeah, I was out all day today and just came in now as we lost the light. What a nice break this is from the MD dews bullshit. This is definitely the kind of weather I envisioned when I bought this place.
  20. I have thought very little about COVID for the past couple weeks since things opened back up. It has rapidly faded from public consciousness for a lot of people. The number of people I am seeing with masks is plummeting every day too. Glad the national nightmare is basically over. If you want the vax, you can easily get it with basically zero wait. If you want to vax your toddler, I guess that will soon be an option too.
  21. Alternate view from my barn I don’t post here much. It’s hard to find a bad view from my backyard. That’s Mt Moriah I believe.
  22. It's amazing out there. I love this weather.
  23. 48/34 Nice MD winter weather to kick off NNE summer.
  24. Definitely the kind of setup where Alex is in the mid to upper-20s and dead calm whereas I am stuck at 34 with stiff breezes.
