  1. People are very on-edge now. I try to keep my distance from most. IMO, Karen-types that still stroll up to strangers and start lecturing them about customer service or some other offense are just asking to get beaten or worse in this environment.
  2. LOL Well that makes it better!
  3. So glad I have the place in NH to go to if the mask silliness returns. Seeing very few masks in my usual haunts in MD, DE, and FL this summer. Hope sanity wins out over the casedemic nonsense.
  4. At least you aren’t an Orioles fan.
  5. I am in NNE for cold and snow. If I am in the mood for steamy dews and sitting around in suburbia drinking IPAs I can get that in MD, which seems pretty similar to CT in most respects.
  6. That stuff all looks OK other than the office building.
  7. Other than drinking IPAs and mowing lawns, what is there to do in CT?
  8. The current power grid has fairly high loss rates. A large amount of the electricity we generate is lost in transit from the source to the destination. Very wasteful. Fixing that requires a large state and local investment and a lot of NIMBY issues in posh neighborhoods with ancient infrastructure.
  9. People need to be less scared of nuclear.
  10. I enjoy trolls who don't break character no matter what. It takes more focus and care than people realize to stay dedicated to a single schtick over the years. Kudos!
  11. We liked Red Parka. Cool place.
  12. That’s the news desk spirit! LOL
  13. So much of the park was closed when we went in early June. The food situation was a ridiculous mess. Santa’s Village was way more efficient in that department.
  14. I know a guy who was road biking a few years back and was clipped by a car. Messed him up really badly. Now he limps everywhere and is sort of hunched over all the time. It seems really risky to me to bike on open roads like that. People do it around here in MD on narrow hilly roads with blind curves.
  15. I figured at a news station there would be cubes like that. What’s your work setup?
  16. I gave up the high gravity IPAs because it takes a lot of gym time to offset them.
  17. Runners have disgusting legs. All swollen and veiny.
  18. I believe he said it’s about 100 days there on average.
  19. Two of my kids are typical jaded “tweens” and they had fun at Santa’s Village. It’s way more elaborate there than I had expected.
  20. We liked story land but we thought Santa’s Village was even better. Check it out if you haven’t. It felt bigger, newer, and better kept-up to me. The food situation at story land was a disaster when we went around Memorial Day. Hours wait. I’m sure they are still trying to recover and dealing with the labor shortage which would affect a place like that big time.
  21. It reminds me a lot of touristy places in MD and DE we frequent. Same kind of vibe. Nothing wrong with that, but by the time we get up north we are ready for a break from that. Berlin/Gorham is just so much different that we enjoy the change the pace. In North Conway, I am fighting a bunch of other out of town families in Suburbans and Expeditions for limited parking in front of the touristy restaurants and shops; I can get that vibe down in MD or DE any time I want.
  22. The traffic and crush of people drives me nuts. I go up north to get away from the big crowds. We usually stop in Jackson and don’t continue down to North Conway. But it’s definitely popular down there.
  23. I don’t like North Conway. I just don’t get the appeal. Just me though.
