LOL is this what we are calling the "never-ending casedemic" now?
The new recommendations were made because the CDC realized the vaccinated are spreading the virus around.
It's crazy to me that people do not see that we are headed in the same direction as Europe, towards an Australia-style COVID zero policy.
He is just plugging his ears and pretending that the government is basing their guidelines on deaths and not cases. The CDC guidance that started all this was based on cases and spread amongst the vaccinated, but he doesn't want to hear it. Easier to live in a fantasy world I guess.
Countries with high vaccination rates are locking back down over cases and vaccinated spread. It's coming to his little corner of MA too. He is just in denial.
You really seem to just be stubbornly ignoring the fact that policy is being set on cases, not hospitalizations and deaths.
I guess the ostrich maneuver is one approach.
I'd be more inclined to go with what you are saying if other nations weren't making the vaccinated mask-up (and lock down, in some cases) based on their own data.
The CDC is totally politicized now, so I don't really trust them, but other nations are doing the same thing. I doubt Israel and Iceland are using P-town data.
Small sample, but Gibraltar has seen a steep rise in cases even though they are something like 99% vaccinated. I don't think they are all having gay orgies over there either.
Right, but haven't we also been hearing that the level of delta virus in the sinuses of the breakthrough cases is like 1,000 times that of alpha?
There are a large number of vaccinated cases being recorded by other countries. This isn't a smoking gun that the vaccinated are causing a lot of spread, but it leans that way.
Incredible how defensive you are about a vaccine. You shouldn't be displaying your own self-doubt and buyer's remorse so openly on the Internet, buddy.
If the CDC had decided to actually track breakthroughs, you'd see similar numbers here to those in Israel, UK, Iceland, etc. There are many more breakthrough cases here than is being reported. Time to stop using cases as the basis of public policy!
While we are living in blissful ignorance that 99.999766754% of cases are the unvaccinated (who are also creating all the variants), other countries are starting to come clean. Here is Iceland (interesting timing):

Yet people here are STILL pushing the narratives.
You are thinking about enormous corporations that can simply hire new employees at the drop of a hat and have an entire legal department to deal with these matters.
I am more concerned about small businesses that can go under if hit with a 250k legal judgment.
We avoid our insurance company like the plague. You could be right, I can only speak based on what is going on my little world of defense contractors. It's definitely a sore subject for me because when I was sued over COVID my insurance company basically told me they aren't covering COVID claims because they expect a ton of them and I am on my own. Good for nothing clowns. Last time I talked to them about another matter, they told me that they were already seeing a rise in wrongful termination claims as employees are forced to return to work and then refuse. Just an anecdote, I know.
I already had an employee sue me and one of my primes over COVID restrictions, so I definitely lost sleep over it.
I have no idea what "business" you are actually in (it seems to be some kind of vague and changing George Costanza "importer/exporter" thing based on your posts here) so I can't compare notes.
It might not hit the Supreme Court, but there are going to be a lot of wrongful termination lawsuits over this.
What do I do as an employer if the employee refuses to provide vaccine status or test results? Fire him/her on the spot? I am not so sure I have legal protection there. I could definitely see the EEOC and state labor boards not agreeing that was a bonafide reason to fire someone. This will be a mess for companies that operate across state lines and globally.
I don't think the government is going to mandate vaccines because it is just not that clear cut legally and there will be a lot of pushback. They will work through businesses, just like they work through businesses to violate people's free speech rights and spy on US citizens already.
So... why isn't the state just mandating vaccines then? Why are they asking private businesses to do it? According to your post, it's plenty legal for the government to simply do it.
Here comes the big push to vaccinate little kids...
Just saw two TV commercials.
Yeah, vax them up and then mask them up for another year in school jail!
Eventually I probably will. In my particular business, I am still below the size where you usually can find a buyer. My revenue streams are fairly stable, so selling out would eliminate some stress but probably not be better financially for me right now.
I sure do wish the government would stop making threats about COVID though.
I am staring down the barrel of having to tell over 120 people they have to get vaccinated and prove that to me or prove to me each week they don't have COVID. I sure wish I could just climb a mountain all day instead.
