  1. Yup, gotta try everything at least once.
  2. I think a lot of property is vacant but being bought up by large institutional investors. I think most people would be shocked to learn how much infrastructure, property, and land is now owned by a handful of fairly shadowy holding companies.
  3. I cut way back on my drinking, and I have been feeling a lot better in general. I pretty much end up feeling like shit whenever I drink now. Just not worth it aside from some rare occasions. I do still enjoy a cold, strong IPA from time to time or a stiff vodka drink.
  4. Not terrible numbers, IMO. A little out of range. If you are worried about it, get a second opinion. If you have a family history, that usually gets you shortlisted for statins.
  5. What are your other numbers? Total is considered less important these days, it's just an indicator if it's very high.
  6. Very high cholesterol runs in my family. I have been on statins since I turned 18 and my total cholesterol was already high 200s at that time even though I was as thin as a rail and played various sports. Never had any side effects, that I am aware of at least. Liver numbers always looked good. My HDL remains too low and my LDL too high. My triglycerides have also spiked at various points, but I made some additional dietary changes and they recently dropped. Without statins, my cholesterol would be off the charts right now and I would be headed for a heart attack at a fairly young age. I am not a fatty who eats three burgers a day, either. My body just makes too much of the stuff. So I recommend the drugs to anyone dealing with high cholesterol who already has a decent diet, keeps their weight in check, and exercises.
  7. It must be a regional thing. My wife's family has strong ties of recent immigration from central and northern Italy and they never, ever called it "gravy" that I have ever heard. I never hear that term down in MD from anyone when referring to sauce for pasta. Just another weird NE thing, probably!
  8. Calling pasta sauce "gravy" is an abhorrent cultural crime and you should stop it.
  9. LOL yeah I looked back at my pics from last fall and it seems to be on track, just a little behind of last year which was on the early side for sure.
  10. I’m hoping the leaves are down by Christmas up here. I used your forecast to move some guests we had coming for the leaves. I told them to wait until Turkey Day at the earliest!
  11. Definitely a bully day. Feels almost authentic out there, IMO.
  12. I only have two summers under my belt, but this one certainly felt a lot different to me than last summer. It has seemed to be pretty wet and there were even some spells of what seemed like upslope rain from time to time where it would be raining pretty well at my place and just drizzle down in Gorham. I haven't checked the CoCoRaHS numbers too closely but I'm sure we are running close enough to average. My well has been in great shape too. It has seemed a lot less hot and humid than last summer too. Never really even got near 90 at my spot. Hit upper 80s briefly one time.
  13. LOL WTF are these uniforms the Sox are wearing?
  14. 81/75 Feels like 87. Glad I am not there yet. Too hot with no AC.
  15. Little too heavy of a hand right now, IMO.
  16. Definitely headed in that direction. Going up next week to start getting back in the fall/winter routine up there through April.
  17. Can we at least get a local mod to slap us around?
  18. Is this forum run by the SE forum mod now?
