  1. BW keeps opening terrain at a good clip. I know it's not the most epic radical powder hound mountain out there, but man they know how to make snow and groom it up nice. LOL
  2. 24 with snow showers so definitely a mid-winter feel here today.
  3. Would rather have it north than south, IMO. North trend is a myth, at last since I moved up here. Smoking cirrus at 20 degrees is a real threat here, but it will still snow here either way probably.
  4. This year flew by like no other. Sheesh.
  5. Most "standard" upslope events seem to drop 2-3" here each day so that's my call here overnight into tomorrow.
  6. Nice! Let's hope for some more synoptic events. I know upslope doesn't really work over there.
  7. Looks like best stayed south this time. Just a dusting to half inch here.
  8. It's been awesome for us. We ski Mon-Fri and have the mountain mostly to ourselves. Even with limited terrain open we had free rein from 1-4. Last chair every single day.
  9. Like I said, a couple feet of snow would solve a lot of issues. Simplifies things a little, at least. Just need to groom a bit and run the lifts. Wildcat seems to really suck at snowmaking now for various reasons (staffing, pumps, electricity, etc.). There are tons of idle construction type workers up in Berlin, Milan, Stark, etc. (I sit at the bar with a bunch of them sometimes) but I guess they are hunkered down and not thinking of picking up hours at Wildcat. This has certainly been an issue nationwide we have all seen play out.
  10. I am not sure, but I could definitely see that being a contributing issue. Vail seems to expect Wildcat to have enough staff to check vaccine cards for all people eating at the food service places too... was surprised to see that in NH but apparently it is a Vail requirement across the board.
  11. BW and Sunday River seem to be able to get staff to make snow and get those mountains open. Same labor market, really. Maybe they pay more? I really hope Wildcat figures it out. Cool place and very convenient for us. Obviously getting a couple feet of snow in December would cure a lot of problems.
  12. They are a mess. It would be a real shame if Vail allows them to fall apart and then closes the place.
  13. A good decision. I love that place.
  14. Thanks, it's Wildcat so I will wait for reports from others before I go over and waste a day. They've been a hot mess. I have season passes there so I hope it works out.
  15. It'll be good for the snow to be up in NNE where it belongs. It literally causes me physical pain to see enormous quantities of beautiful precipitation wasted on SE Mass coastal downpours while I get cirrus at 25 degrees.
  16. UPS does that here too. They just toss the packages at the top of the driveway and then the plow guy buries ‘em.
  17. Yes, it’s pretty nice out. Best day so far IMO. Hope they open some new trails soon. Several look ready to go to me.
