  1. The folks at MRX are way more intelligent than I am when it comes to weather, so who am I to question this. But modeling be damned, I'm in for rain then more rain *possibly* mixed with snow after 5am.
  2. Wake up from that high gravity beer haze bro, we gonna need some obs!
  3. Went from 3am to 2am over me from what I can tell. 7z to 6z.
  4. I know we are just nitpicking the details, because that's what we do, but latest HRRR shows the change over happening an hour sooner than previous run, at least for central valley.
  5. 850 temp appears to be looking good as of 0z. Thanks for the link John.
  6. I saw an mping snow ob on the state line. Was wondering if you were getting something or if the ob was at Lookout Mountain.
  7. Radar looking healthy for Crossville. Any obs?
  8. Where's a good place to find current 850 temps? This has everything under the sun except that apparently: https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/mesoanalysis/new/viewsector.php?sector=20#
  9. HRRR has the change over time at 3am for Knox county. Trying to decide if I should stay up or set an alarm. I gotta see my flakes!
  10. Dang it John, you canceling your trip screwed up the weather forecast. And now you won't even be able to get decent reception to watch the game buried under all that snow.
  11. You should consider signing up for a free account on imgur.com. Copy map, paste on imgur, copy image URL, past here. Unlimited.
  12. Here's Iowa State's discussion of compaction. Pretty interesting and it just adds more value to their awesome meteogram page. I have it up in a browser tab 24/7. https://meteor.geol.iastate.edu/~ckarsten/bufkit/compaction.html
  13. 18z RGEM showing the plateau and highland rim some love:
  14. It's like an old school Kuchera. It takes into account melting and compaction for a usually more realistic snow total.
  15. It's rare that you see the Cobb algorithm for snow higher than the 10:1 output, but there it is for the NAM at TYS.
  16. As usual, surface temps are marginal for the eastern valley.
