Hoo boy is it different to your north - up in Northern Baltimore county been three days of monsoon. Hasn't rained for 24 hours each day but for the times it has been raining absolute deluges, and this morning may be the heaviest yet from Baltimore north.
Holy moly, my area is NOT missing this round - absolute deluge at the moment and has been for hours in northern Balt County. Took the dogs up to the NCR trail which, not surprisingly, we had to ourselves, and standing water everywhere. Labrador heaven.
Superlative work from Will and Ji putting up all those blizzard snow maps weeks and weeks early - totally nailed the four flurries this AM. Good stuff.
One of those days where the building is shaking from the wind hitting it. Or feels like it is. I mean, I am 20 floors up so it's probably not literally shaking but...still. In any event, windy.
Wind is 24/365 possibility though. Wind, it is an ever present potential. Wind, destroyer of limbs, feller of power lines. Wind, which led me to eight EIGHT power outages in 2023 alone. Wind, my new enemy, we meet again.
Kinda not ideal conditions today for the st Patrick’s 5k in downtown Baltimore. Better than yesterday I guess but that wind is gonna make it an unpleasant experience I suspect for the runners.
Got in 5 miles of a 7.5 hike at Soldier’s Delight area in owing mills in just a mist. Last two and a half miles it opened up and poured. That said looks like the heaviest this AM went up to PA and is still heavy up there while just light here. And looks like the heaviest later is over toward 95 and eaat toward @CAPE. Probably a precip minimum for this event in and around the beltways compared to north and east anyway…
Hell, that didn't get it done when we saw those kinds of projected temp profiles through every week of winter save the one. Much less the end of the third week in March. Pretty cool to be tracking cool and rainy tho, I guess.
