  1. How those warm SSTs for the mid Atlantic, Virginia, Maryland, NJ coast?
  2. lol it’s approaching HECS for Richmond, VA. NAM has zero
  3. It’s a very similar setup and model error of last weeks “mini nuke.” GFS was 100 percent wrong on a 48 hr forecast, this looks same. It’s phantom bombing these lows
  4. Again, on the list of factors preventing snow, this is near the bottom
  5. SSTs off the east coast are pretty meaningless, if anything prefer warmer temps for enhanced baroclinicity
  6. That was the grinch, parts of upstate NY had 40 inches in one storm last December. This one we had one storm for 6 to 8 inches two weeks ago and a few more of inch or so. No real cold but a few radiational cooling nights and lots of clouds grey skies, inversions and temps in the 30s during the day
  7. I don’t remember last year being this bad, we had a huge snow storm in mid December. Grinch was bad but I still take that over this year
  8. It’s not bad luck, there is a reason the NAO breaks down when the RNA moves out of the gutter
  9. Could but probably not, especially if the PV heads toward Europe. We would still be flooded with PAC air
  10. Historic torch looking likely Jan 5 to 15, even warmer than what we had most of December as we loose the blocking and RNA rages
  11. It’s a few radiational cooling nights, not representative
  12. Don’t see any threat on any of these, maybe some light rain or drizzle
  13. Can’t imagine many being thrilled with 4.4 inches of snow for all of January
  14. https://nypost.com/2021/10/20/nyc-to-be-affected-by-la-higher-snowfall-than-expected-in-november/
  15. You said this week upcoming looked great last week, instead this week is near 50 everyday with intermittent rain. The models past a few days, even ensembles are no better than a coin flip
