  1. It has been great to be located south of the lake breeze boundary. Yesterday made it 74, and low 80's today. It definitely has been dry compared to previous Springs. Picked up a decent amount of rain the other night. The ground is still moist out this way.
  2. Same here. Couldn't believe my eyes this morning. Ugly Spring day out there.
  3. The grass is growing nicely, and suprisingly there are lots of buds on the trees. I'll be mowing this weekend. Hopefully the long range changes... at least April snow melts quickly.
  4. Yep, that is the sad part. I'm rooting against the snow... I've turned the page on Winter. Gimme a week of 60 and sun please.
  5. Awesome Spring day out there... mid-30's and heavy rain. A couple slushy flakes mixing in.
  6. Wish I would have seen the light show last night. Not sure what type of view I would have had in the hills though. It was definitely an odd winter snowfall wise. I'm over 100" on the season (haven't done a final tally yet), which is about normal for this area. Haven't looked at the models but we've got a long way to go before our snow chances are gone.
  7. Snow is down to piles finally. This was the longest period of snowcover I can remember. The snow in the woods/shady areas was resilient... there are still large patches around. My yard has sunk in spots as much as 6" from the weight of the snow.
  8. The snowpack is finally starting to erode. It has been a slow melt thankfully. Last night I measure anywhere from 4 - 8 inches in the protected/shady areas. Hopefully it will be gone by the weekend outside of the piles.
  9. Dropped down to -7 last night IMBY. Hopefully that's the last below zero. Let the melt begin!
  10. Didn't realize that February was the 2nd coldest month ever recorded in CLE. Impressive. A RECORD COLD AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 14.3 DEGREES WAS SET AT CLEVELAND HOPKINS AIRPORT FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 15.2 DEGREES SET IN 1875. THIS ALSO WAS THE SECOND COLDEST MONTH EVER RECORDED. THE COLDEST MONTH IN HISTORY REMAINS 11.0 IN JANUARY 1977. Snowing has started in Chagrin. We'll see how easily the cold is scoured out today.
  11. 4.0" total here. Although it may be poor measuring on my part. Depth is anywhere from 17-22". The strong sun angle is making its presence felt.
  12. CLE issued a watch for 6-10". Seems bullish but we'll see. BUF's onboard so confidence must be high,
  13. I hope so as well. I think the snow will be able to absorb quite a bit of rain. But it the temp and dewpoint spike it could get ugly.
  14. I'm rooting for a warm and rainy cutter next week... the snow has to melt at some point. We could do without flooding, but I think that is inevitable given the snow pack. The snow is so dense and deep it is difficult to walk around in it. I must be getting old but I'm done with winter.
  15. Picked up 1.4" yesterday. Looks like the CLE snowhole continues. Made it down to -12 last night. Incredible stretch of cold weather. After this coming Sunday's snowfall I'm ready to pull the plug on this winter.
  16. It got down to -13 before rising. It was -6 at about 6am. Anything above 10 feels warm these days.
  17. -9 already Imby. How low can we go. Nice pics of the ice... Amazing to see virtually no ice on Lake Ontario. That lake is almost impossible to freeze... Considering superior and Huron are almost frozen over.
  18. Same here. It was snowing heavily last night. It was pure fluff.
  19. About the same here. Thought round 2 would be good but the snow moved out quickly. Definitley not fluff... These sandy type snows seem more substantial. Snow depth ranges from 16-20" of dense snow.
  20. We've had a pretty good run here. You guys just a little northwest tend to hold on to snow cover much better. This has been has been a great stretch of winter by Ohio standards. My son asked when the snow would melt... wasn't sure how to answer that question other than enjoy it while it lasts.
  21. I had 2.8" with the first batch... Probably another inch since the snow started again. Radar looks great, and there's a nice band over the lake. Wonder if we don't see 5-6" out of this. That band running SW to NE over the lake always seems to form. Not sure why that is.
  22. Coming down nicely here. Radar looks good at the moment... hopefully it fills in to the west.
  23. It is very rural in that area so I'm sure it radiates well. Looks like it is located just east of the geauga ridge in the valley so I wouldn't too surprised at the reading... even if it is a degree or two off that's still impressive.
  24. That is what has put this winter in rare territory... snow on top of snow etc. SREF mean is almost up to 6" for CLE. Quite a few members above that as well.
  25. It will be interesting to see how this storm plays out. Can't put much faith in any model solution. NAM cobb output is .38", while the GFS is .38" as well. Should be good for a 4-5" snowfall. A small nudge NW wouldn't be a bad thing.
