  1. @OSUmetstud This is exactly the case. It HAS to be coded as covid for hospitals to be reimbursed properly.
  2. My argument all along is that the bolded above will happen and that all we're doing is delaying it. Even if a vaccine is developed it will take more than a year to produce enough for just the US population. If the economic slow down continues indefinitely you will start to see economies collapse. If the US economy some how collapsed you're talking mass chaos and war. Look at some of the industries that are operating at losses right now. Our local healthcare system is 80M in the hole even after 60M in federal aid. And next month the airline industry will lay off over 100k employees.
  3. It’s because the rate is so low. That may seem like a lot of people but in a country of 330,000,000 that’s a drop in the bucket. Over 80% of those 200k people are over 65 and 94% of all of them had a comorbidity. IE they were already clinically sick. For comparison over 800k people have died so far this year of heart disease and cancer in the US.
  4. Pretty sure that CDC is simply pulling ICD codes. That modifier(when covid positive) has to be on every chart because of how effects level of care.
  5. That argument is moving the goalposts. The same issue would prevalent for flu related deaths.
  6. Covid is on every death certificate where the patient tested positive because it affects the level of care and how the hospital is paid for the case.
  7. I agree, I think its pretty apparent that Covid is being politicized. Its as divisive a topic as religion.
  8. Its that or that the 60s and 70s were notably cold. If its cyclical then we should be at the end of a cool "period"
  9. Yea Id say youre right. Also looks like were getting more volatile from season to season.
  10. Didnt we have our all time coldest month on record in feb 15'?
  11. Ya the only thing that could be interesting in my book would be some sort of prolonged lake effect rain event.
  12. holy hell thats a lot of land... At first glance I thought that the north shore of lake ontario had disappeared lol
  13. That sounds about right. I was on a staycation that week and remeber watching the prices at the gas station across the street climb over $5/gal in the pouring rain. I also remember camping through the remnants of hurricane andrew...what a muddy mess.
  14. Not sure but WIVB had a graphic as part of their forecast snip either last night or this morning and Don Paul has a graphic in his buffalo news article.
  15. Local mets are calling for up to 4" of rain over WNY from the associated moisture from Laura. Could be interesting this weekend.
  16. Still looking. There was a can-am 400 that popped the other day for $500 that needed a new top end but someone beat me to it.
  17. Yea I was in the market for a 4 wheeler, they absolutely exploded in price right after the stimulus checks went out.
  18. Hey...Iron plates and protein have gotten WAY more expensive lol
  19. When I first read your post I thought I wrote it lol. I agree that plenty are taking advantage but also don't want to stomp on the hearts of those who do want to work but cant find anything. I just don't see how we aren't pushing inflation rates up with the way were printing money. Like how do we discern the skyrocketing prices of some goods out there from being from demand or reduced economic output? You'd think with both happening at the same time at some point the bubble will burst. Or even worse what happens with all of outstanding mortgage and student loan money not being repaid? Its simply all pushed into the future? Something has to give...
  20. @BuffaloWeather Absolutely incredible pics. I've always wanted to do that, a sunrise hike for a summit.
  21. Thats insane. Makes me sad to see those trees destroyed like that.
  22. You could go with POE cameras. Basically you just have to run a single ethernet cable to each camera, outdoor rated of course. You'll have to attach your ends which isnt too bad but you'll need the tool. The other route are WAZE cameras, which use USB power cables and transmit the data over wifi. Either solution requires a small hole through the wall, preferably into the basement. If you have vinyl siding you can hide the cable in the corner caps.
  23. I've been dreading bringing that up here. So the trip was to celebrate my mother in laws birthday father in laws retirement. So we were guilted out of spending a whole day away from the family to make that hike. We did get the whole family up to the top of Hackensack which was interesting because i got to carry my 60lb nephew up a pretty rocky scramble. We did plan a return trip this october to attemp Marcy, Gray and Skylight with just my wife and the dogs so weather permitting that should be a beautiful hike.
  24. Thats going to make a mess of the stores with no glass from last nights looting...
