  1. Managed to hit 96 just before 4:00 here with a late rise, BAF as well. HI 103-104.
  2. There's some storms forming further south near POU that should make their way into CT.
  3. Seems pretty meh around here. 94/71 is hot but not excessive heat warning material. Was thinking we could pull 98 or 99 today but doubting that now.
  4. That's plausible if one is travelling more on the S/SE side of the Enfield. 140 does curve north and intersects 191 quite close to the south side of Enfield. Coming from 84, I usually get off further NE in Union and take 190 and than cut up Somers Rd in Somers up to 220 to get to my area of Enfield. There has also been construction delays on 190 in Stafford and Waze has been rerouting traffic at times. He's right that Tolland/ Ellington are more rural/suburban towns, downright country in some areas , but also pretty scenic. It's definitely a bit longer for me, but I enjoy driving that route sometimes to reminisce and enjoy the scenery as we drive by our old place in Ellington.
  5. Yeah I'm fine with that on Thursday. Modeling had been creeping west with the initial wave on Wednesday but I think that stays offshore, or at least east of CT. Probably not ideal beach weather on Wednesday in CT with the clouds and NE flow but as long as it's not a washout I'll take it.
  6. I have a beach day planned on Wednesday near Madison Connecticut. Is that wave of low pressure going to keep trending closer? The rain shield seems to be inching closer with every model run
  7. Summary July 1, 2021 - July 31, 2021 High Low Average Temperature 91.9 °F 55.6 °F 70.3 °F Dew Point 80.8 °F 54.9 °F 66.6 °F Humidity 99 % 40 % 90 % Precipitation 18.03 In This is from an ambient weather station on the south side of Forest Park.
  8. Not sure if this is all 100% accurate , especially high temps when the sensors get a bit extra sun and dews tend to run a bit high at times compared to BDL, CEF, etc but this is the closest closest PWS in my area of Enfield in July. Definitely the wettest month since I've been living here for sure. July 1, 2021 - July 31, 2021 High Low Average Temperature 95.0 °F 55.4 °F 70.8 °F Dew Point 79.1 °F 54.0 °F 65.9 °F Humidity 99 % 35 % 86 % Precipitation 16.01 in
  9. Not surprised. I know the outflow cooled air was gonna kill things up here. My sister in Windsor should be getting a good storm.
  10. Outflow was better than the storm so far here
  11. Outflow winds were impressive, heard a couple of limbs crack next street over but we're down to 71 here now with sprinkles and a cool stiff N wind.
  12. Can definitely smell the smoke out there as well.
  13. 87 and the smoke plume has really rolled in now.
  14. Nice little flare up there on the Connecticut coast, maybe Mr Windcredible finally gets his storm.
  15. Hamden Connecticut looks like it's about to get hit no surprise there
  16. https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/weather-news/stories/nws-investigating-damage-after-possible-tornado-touchdown-in-somers/2531199/ I was outside observing drainage around the house during that storm and did notice low-level clouds coming from the east while the higher storm clouds were coming from the southwest.
  17. Berks getting hit hard. Had a 10 minute downpour here. Basement with water issues for the first time in 9 years here.
  18. Nearby PWS is 14.75 for the month. We're waving the white flag.
  19. Rude awakening here as well, 2nd storm storm now hitting. Relentless.
  20. I'm not a big fisherman, but I did cast a line out from the dock most days and caught mainly pumpkin seeds and dace using crawlers. My wife and father-in-law like to fish more, they grabbed some largemouth in the 15 to 19 inch range, I believe using lures or some type of fake worm looking bait that they squeeze garlic / lemon flavored attractant that turns them bright green. You're right about the weather, there was probably 3 days that were sunny and warm and what I would consider classic lake days. Filled in the gaps with a trip to Tumbledown Mountain, Mosher Falls in Farmington, visited family staying at a cabin at Lake Androscoggin in Leeds, play disc golf in Belgrade and regular golf at Spring Brook Country Club in Leeds, hiked a couple trails in the Kennebec Highlands, and made a trip down to Freeport.
  21. Just got back from 10 days in Maine, yard looks like the Amazon, greener than I've ever seen it. PWS in the neighborhood is at 12.25 for the month. Only a few days with measurable rain up in Mount Vernon Maine at the cabin and only one day I would consider a washout last Friday.
  22. Nearby PWS is reporting about 9.6 for the month. Thankfully I've been in Maine since July 7, only 1 wet day up here so far last Friday and yesterday turned surprisingly sunny in the PM.
  23. Yesterday was pretty good here. Large limb down on my neighbors shed, Tree on a house about 1/2 mile away, intense lightning and solid wind, enough to produce some scattered damage. Rainfall has been sick this month.
