This. The winds will more than likely disappoint in inland areas...but you know Kev, he’ll try his best to fool himself to the end. Hope he is right, but thinking it isn’t much here in the wind dept that is out of the ordinary. Gusts in the 40’s isn’t all that big of a deal for us imo. Coastal areas are a whole different story.

I’ll tell ya that radar is looking impressive to me heading up from the south...definitely coming together, gonna rain hard here in a few hours.

There was one nuts event in the Mid nineties(95 maybe, and it was late winter early spring), no leaves on the trees, and it was insane here. Some of the strongest winds I’ve ever witnessed, and it was a sunny Morning/midday. Winds were sustained very high, and gusts were upper sixties low seventies. Somebody was killed in Farmington I believe when a tree blew down on their vehicle. That event stands out in my mind for sure. Very impressive event. maybe somebody will remember the exact year??

Totally Agree. He needs a time out from Mods for sure. Who was he before screen name change? I think we’re gonna get a Good slug of Rain..heavy at that. Winds are always a disappointment most times inland here..but we’ll see if we can CAA some wind in our hoods?? It should be interesting to see how this all comes together later today and overnight?

I know the difference. But to be fair Ginx, it underwhelmed SE areas too. And that’s where it was supposed to be more of something. And no, I wasn’t expecting much inland at all, so I wasn’t duped one bit. It did what I expected inland..which wasn’t much. And to be fair, it was Kev who was the one calling for a big event last week...not me. Sure the the waves were huge, and the swells in the ocean were impressive, but it was a flop for SE areas too with regard to precip and any sort of strong wind.

Ya you’re right...the cold air advection is where we get some decent winds most times around here it seems. Run of the mill rain event most likely. Its always fun to see the beast/or extreme depictions, but we gotta realize those are truly rare, and don’t happen 99% of the time.
