  1. I'm more north of Columbus and we definitely had more than 23 days of 1" of snow. We had snow from the system after Christmas all the way to the end of January, then a brief melt with another system putting about 3" down that last 2 or 3 weeks. Our typical winter will see snow, then it's melted within a week then maybe a little more a week later etc. Not basically continuous. Yes there were melts but areas were quickly re-covered.
  2. I'm 40, and it's usually been snow then melts, snow then melts. I faintly remember when I was a kid it seemed like we had a lot more snow but could just be cause I was shorter lol.
  3. Wanted to get on and say, I think for the first time in as long as I can remember, we've has snow on the ground for nearly all of the winter, at least here in Knox county. It was never a lot, but we got our first snow right after Christmas. That snow lasted for about a month and a half. Then we went a few days without snow, but the next snow fall, while it is nearly all gone now is still holding on in some shaded spots. So for nearly 3 months we've had snow on the ground. It kinda kills the pre-winter predictions of a warm winter for us. It's not been remotely warm this winter, and we've had snow on the ground for more days than I can ever remember in the past and it was done without ever having a major storm in Central Ohio. Anyone else notice how long the snow stayed on the ground this year?
  4. Not sure what we'll get here but it's heavy snow currently. Guess it'll just depend on how long before it passes. Probably be our last hoorah for the year
  5. Cleveland took knox off yesterday, now back on and calling for the nice range of 1-4" lol
  6. You know we're in snow hell when Pensacola, FL is getting 6-8" and we can't get 4 lol
  7. I see 3-5 in my location. Taking it with a grain of salt, however.
  8. How about Saturday? Any chance for a tad NW once this other system is out of the way?
  9. We did better than I figured. Got a couple inches, but it ripped for about 2hrs and gave us 1.5"
  10. Yep. When is the last time we've even gotten a good clipper? Don't fret, another one misses us to the south in 5 days lol
  11. It's becoming increasingly obvious that for whatever reason Central Ohio just doesn't get decent snows anymore. It's still early in the winter, but this one is aggravating.
  12. Dead for me. Be lucky to see 1" in Knox. CMH people getting anything yet or just virga?
  13. Yea. I don't know how anyone is supposed to figure where it's going when models aren't just split by a little bit, but by 3/4 of a state lol.
  14. HRRR is quite a bit further north than the 18gfs same time frame, and quite a bit stronger.
  15. Childhood. You, like me, probably always went out and sled rode, snowball fights, etc. We had a huge hill and lots of towns kids would go meet up there and go sledding. I remember being in 3rd and 4th grade, my teacher Mr. Vipperman would call my house to ask if we were gonna have snow. I've tortured myself with this since 9 years old lol. I'm 41 on the 10th. My son will be 10 the 8th and my daughter just turned 9, the most snow they've seen was Christmas Eve 2020 we got 7" so they were 5 and 6 at the time.
  16. It's hammering down here right now. I bet we've picked up 1.5" in 30 minutes.
  17. Well most models have been fine for Franklin County. I'm directly on the line on all of em lol. 18z gem was good for i70 south.
  18. 18z nam. 25 mile north nudge is all i need. You guys seem to be golden, licking, Franklin counties.
  19. Hoping for a correction north on 18z, but I doubt it. I think even Kentucky gets more yearly snow than us now lol.
