Sun angle is definitely declining at a big clip now anyways. Whoever finds themselves under a streamer in the next few hours could easily whiten up everything again.
Last night was truly incredible around these parts. As always we really require some intense daytime rates to get meaningful accumulation around here during the day. Pretty standard stuff for DC proper at least. This storm definitely exceeded my expectations though.
Just took a little jebwalk up here. Absolutely puking fluffy dendrites. Gotta be close to 2" new, piling up very very quickly. Every road, even recently treated ones, are covered.
I'm not worried. Just like that bright pink.
Just took a stroll outside, big fat wet flakes, but sidewalks and untreated roads already caving. Really coming down honestly.
DC advisory upgraded to 2-4"

That was the most fun I've ever had model tracking, the entire week leading up to that storm. Can't believe it was 8 years ago already. We may never see something like that again.
The real trick is to walk towards Cathedral Heights where all the roads cave and you can pretend the DC heat pump doesn't exist. Plus the church is pretty in the snow.
Yeah exactly we're gonna get our couple of inches when the sun goes down but we're not gonna accumulate like people up north during the day time. Tonight should be beautiful out.
If you try to compare DC metro snow with people out in Frederick you're gonna have a bad time. We'll get our couple of inches once the sun goes down and it'll be fine.
Steady snowtv for the past 90 mins here. Sidewalks and roads wet. Goes to show we literally need to be ripping to get any meaningful daytime accumulation in DC.
