  1. Freezing rain still on-going and snowfall totals will likely be updated, but here is a prelimary map of the snow accumulation and ice accumulation so far across the state. If anyone has any snow or ice numbers, final please tag me or PM me so i can include them. Thanks.
  2. Going with 0.2" snow here based on surrounding reports and visual obs, this is an estimate 0.2" actual ice. Varying from 3/16" to 7/32" (half way between 3/16-1/4). Converting it to decimal is .19-.22. Avg is 0.20 Light freezing rain. 30F
  3. Torch. It's always spring there. Just went outside, its downright nasty out. Roads are icy, slushy. Driveways and sidewalks are literally a sheet of ice. Grass is crunchy, looking at the ice around small tree branches it looks to be about .2 or 1/4" of ice or so. so far... we are hovering around 30F
  4. Some southern CT stations finally just getting into the 33 and rain category, pretty much all of LI, NYC and SE coastal MA above 0C
  5. I think the 0.1 i got from this storm put me to the half a foot mark for the season! (5.9" before the storm)
  6. I had you in the C-2 range for most of CT that will work out well. I was one of the most conservative on the snowfall last night and i know no one liked it but that's the reality. Fact of the matter is im going to bust high in the 2-4 range for far northern CT. Ice map will be pretty good, glad i didn't go to crazy with that either. Here's some of the latest PNS statements which will fill in as we go on throughout the day from the LFOs.
  7. I did as well, people always focus on the snow amounts. And C-2 is a joke, i said dont worry about that its all about the ICE.
  8. Yea i think my snowfall and ice map will actually be pretty good. C-2 was right on, probably should have been C-1 though. I haven't gone outside and measured it but it looks pretty bad, id say probably a 1/4 so far. Going off ASOS MMK and HVN its probably around there.
  9. No. i meant NW to SE, i see why you asked me though. I was referring to the orientation of the line, not the direction it was travelling.
  10. what a joke this storm is. barely snowed for an hour. now were all sleet. hardly a coating down. glad i went C-2 for most. sleet line plowing through the state NW to SE
  11. Final call for CT. Did not change snowfall accumulation map, went up on the ice totals a notch.
  12. Not really it's in the 20s for you and me through 12Z and below freezing the entire run through 16Z
  13. Just sayin.. Noticing a marked warming trend at 850 on the HRRR, it seems to have halted this current run though. QPF cut back a bit as well
  14. Whenever i see a post with a bunch of weenies on it, i just add one it's fun to pig pile like that. Or if a post has a weenie, a wow, a confused, a thanks...ill add a sad just to try to make the whole gamut of emotions Edit: I only see one heart and one weenie....you can do better than that... Edit 2: getting better...one confused, i like those Edit 3: we're gettin close, just need a thanks and a sad...maybe a few more weenies too for the fire Edit 4: A sad face and we've made it Edit 5: We have arrived, i'm so proud of this community.
  15. The HRRR has the 850 0C line just north of the shoreline at 12Z and the RGEM is at the MA boarder, worlds apart.
  16. RGEM is significantly warmer at H85 and is absolutely putrid for snow in CT, almost nothing up to 84. Pretty much all mix from the start.
  17. That map is utterly useless. Unless you want to confuse the public and post them all over social media, it's good for that.
  18. @RU848789 and just as you say that and post an updated map, NWS PHI uses the old criteria for the warnings and issues a Winter Storm Warning for .25" of ice. Maybe they are just fudging it a little bit and going for impacts and combination of 2-4" of snow and .25ice combined, those two alone dont meet warning criteria though. At least not from the map you posted. As i suspected... Although the snow totals and the ice totals individually fall below Warning criteria, believe that the combination of the two will result in Warning level impacts.
  19. New advisories out for OKX, upped snowfall for 2-4" staying conservative with the ice with 0.1-0.2. nothing new from BOX or ALY yet. maps are still old
  20. NAM & 3K NAM GW for S CT with now over 1.00" of ZR. Obviously those numbers are too high for this type of event. Still think up to a half inch is possible though. ill be interested to check out the soundings in bufkit when the 18zs come out.
  21. Well that was just part of what said, I did say it was over amped and too far N, i just threw the thermals in there and prefaced it with the obvious, which clearly was a mistake. It's all good Thats really the main point here
