I still see commentary that we’ve opened too soon, that we should still be masking and distancing and restaurants should be takeout only because the “Indian variant” could breakthrough the vaccine and cause a huge spike in deaths and hospitalizations. There’s going to be people that are afraid and want to keep things locked down for years.

Don’t forget it was The Lancet who published that quack Andrew Wakefield’s article that started the “vaccines cause autism” mess.

I lived in a roach infested apartment in Boston back in the early 90’s with no AC and no way to use even a window unit. I sweated my ass off with a box fan for 3 summers. After I moved, I never was without central air. Flip a switch.

Mini split is the way to go. I put one in my basement for the boy where he does his gaming. I got a Mr Cool. It comes with a pre charged set of lines, and is really DIY. It runs off 120 volts. You just need to run some power out to the compressor. I did that DIY too, but an electrician can run the power and the mini split solution is for sure an easy install. I did it in about 4 hours start to finish. Works awsome. I thought about a portable but they’re noisy and the exhaust pipe can’t be over a certain length. Where I would have had to exhaust it was too far. I think I paid $1500 for 12,000 BTU. It also works as a heat pump in the winter.

Let the insurance company do it’s thing for now. Also call your company as well and let them know what’s going on. Your insurance company has lawyers that work for them, and in turn you. Since there was no injury and only property damage, it’s easier to deal with. But that said, keep your options a open before you sign off on anything. Dont be in a hurry to settle. Under no circumstances settle with the driver. (My step dad is a retired attorney and my mother is a retired superior court judge I e had this stuff drillled in my head since I was a kid and I’ve dealt with insurance companies more then I care )
