Mattapan has a 75% population of AA. It has the lowest vax rate in all of Boston. Somehow I just don’t see those folks taking there marching orders from Fox News and Facebook conspiracy sites. Im so conservative on sone things I make Atilla the Hun look left wing and I’m a staunch advocate for vaccines. I know a ton of Trump voters who were first in line. Vaccine hesitancy is on both sides.

The feds can’t mandate anything other than federal property and interstate transportation. Baker said today mask mandates aren’t coming back. Cities and towns can “urge”, but without a statewide declaration of emergency, it’s not a mandate. Dirty looks I can handle.

What I don’t understand is why this is happening. Medical professionals and scientists know better, including Fauci. I’m not talking about your run of the mill basic MD. A lot of them only know what the PDR tells them. I’m talking about the MDs and PhDs who are real live immunologists, virologist, molecular biologists etc who treat patients, run labs, publish peer reviewed science. They know better.

That’s been my point for months. There’s a lot of virus circulating. Just because you can pick up a bit on a PCR test from a nasal swab, doesn’t mean a person is infected or even capable of transmitting it. There’s a little thing called viral load. I’m not sure why there is still routine testing in vaccinated people. Just causes confusion and fear. The CDC said a couple months ago that routine testing of vaccinated people should end. I’ve said before that if you pulled 20,000 per week off the street in Boston and did a PCR test for measles you’d find it in a certain percentage. Not as much as Covid because there’s not as much measles that circulate. But the fact you find it in vaccinated people doesn’t mean we hide in fear, shut down, and mask up because we found some measles in a vaxed person nose that no danger to them or anyone else that’s vaxed for measles. Phin and I disagreee on several things, but he’s spot on when he says this is now a case-demic. That said, everyone who can should still get vaxed.

We bought a new washer 6 years ago. It was delivered, hooked up, and proceeded to flood the laundry room within 5 minutes. Had a kitchen aid dishwasher crap out after 9 years, but I figured it lasted ok and bought another one. My Jenn Aire fridge is 13 and still cranking.

I usually buy an extended warranty, but never at the dealer when I buy the vehicle. I get an after market. My wife and I both put at least 25k a year on our respective vehicles. We keep a car for 8 years and trade one every 4 so we dont have 2 payments. So that many miles per year, the extended does pay. The POS GMC Acadia we traded last year was in the shop for one thing or another all the time. The extended saved me a few thousand over the life of that piece of crap. My Lexus on the other hand hasn’t been in the shop once since I bought it new in 2015.
