  1. That's a good thing. Keeps the yellow pollen down.
  2. 40 years ago today. Who remembers the blizzard of March 1980? I lived in Virginia Beach at the time and we had around 15" with drifts up to 6 feet. It was the most snow I had ever seen until 1996. https://www.wral.com/40-years-ago-today-20-inches-of-snow-in-eastern-nc/18987680/?fbclid=IwAR2ltD6_LoJHnR8FGqDBglz1yIlQ_75h8JDqSRH8DmrhJvwCuDvp_YfxVJk
  3. Let's not forget the 1980 blizzard for the eastern third of NC and VA. But I don't see anything like those storms in our future this year.
  4. I give it a solid F. Lack of any real cold. My lowest temp so far has only been 25. And only 1 inch of snow which was gone by morning. Horrible winter. Flowering trees are already blooming here.
  5. What a horrible storm for us. Picked up 1.40" of rain followed by maybe an inch or 2 of snow, judging by looking out the window at 2 am, but by dawn most of it has melted.
  6. Well after 14 hours of steady rain, amounting to 1.39", it has finally changed over to snow with some sleet mixed in. Temp 34/33.
  7. Still rain here. 1.28" so far. Sitting at 36/35. Although we needed the rain, am disappointed as usual. I really hate this area.
  8. Exactly 1.00" of rain so far today. Temp at 38/36. Snow is getting closer and closer.
  9. .71" of rain today. Still raining at 41/39.
  10. Just got back from taking the dogs on they afternoon walk. Cold and wet. 41/40 and nothing but rain here near New Bern.
  11. Temp went up to 44 at noon but is now back down to 43. Need It to drop more.
  12. Rain and 43/40. Temp has dropped 5 degrees since rain started at 8:45 this morning, 2 hours ago.
  13. 48/37 about 5 miles southeast of New Bern.
  14. It certainly was last year for us. We had a whopping 0.5" which was our total for the year!
  15. Looks like this could be our 3rd torch February in a row. Only time will tell but cold weather doesn't look likely for the next 2 weeks.
  16. That is exactly what I am thinking. My area will be lucky to see low's in the 20's again. This is looking like it may be the first winter in some time that I don't see temps fall below 25 much less 20.
  17. Had to mow my backyard today. Thanks winter. Thought I could have at least 3 to 4 months off from that!
  18. Of course it will disappear next run. Way to far out to even get a hint of excitement.
  19. It woke me up when the line came thru. I had expected the same but thankfully found nothing down.
  20. That is one hell of a polar vortex. Highly doubtful it will verify but would be amazing if it did.
  21. Yes it did. Hit 80 at my house and across much of southeastern NC and eastern SC.
  22. After a bit of OT today, I will get 15 solid days of vacation. Then after that it will be only 26 days until I retire. Woohooooooo.
  23. FedEx ground sucks. I usually try not to use them but I ordered a bunch of stuff from Wallyworld and it promised a Saturday delivery. I waited as long as I could and figured they would just drop it off at the door like UPS and USPS does. At 4:30 I had to leave for about an hour and of course a short while later they showed up and then left without leaving the packages. Why they don't give a time at least within a few hours when they will deliver is beyond me. They gave me a 12 hour window. I will do my best to never use them again if I can help it. They are worse than the cable guy. Now I have to wait until Monday and hope they get here before I leave for work. Now I got a notice that they will deliver Monday by 8 PM. The holding site is over an hour away so going there is a no go.
  24. And gives my area 3". Yep very legit for middle of November!
