Picked up .44" with the passage of those storms. Had Tornado warnings for us but actually got very little wind out of it. Had much higher gusts long before the storms came thru. Was out walking my pups when one particular gust actually stopped me in my tracks. Heard a loud crack and saw a very large branch fall from a tree and 50 yards away from me. Currently 67/65 with winds in the 20 mph + range once again.

Just had a nice severe warned storm move thru with heavy rain and pea sized hail. First hail I have seen in many years. Picked up .49" real quick. Also dropped our temp from 75 to 65. EDIT: 2nd severe warned storm came thru and boy did it get dark but only got some wind and rain out of it. Total from both storms .65"

And to go to 2 stores just to find some chicken. All lunch meat, bacon, potatoes and of course toilet paper are gone. I found the toilet paper at a hardware store.

Scored a pack of toilet paper today. Right place at the right time. Feels like I won the lottery. LOL

Well all NC public schools are now closed for the next 2 weeks per order of Gov. Cooper.

40 years ago today. Who remembers the blizzard of March 1980? I lived in Virginia Beach at the time and we had around 15" with drifts up to 6 feet. What a horrible storm for us. Picked up 1.40" of rain followed by maybe an inch or 2 of snow, judging by looking out the window at 2 am, but by dawn most of it has melted.

Well after 14 hours of steady rain, amounting to 1.39", it has finally changed over to snow with some sleet mixed in. Temp 34/33.

Still rain here. 1.28" so far. Sitting at 36/35. Although we needed the rain, am disappointed as usual. I really hate this area.

Exactly 1.00" of rain so far today. Temp at 38/36. Snow is getting closer and closer.

.71" of rain today. Still raining at 41/39.

Just got back from taking the dogs on they afternoon walk. Cold and wet. 41/40 and nothing but rain here near New Bern.

Temp went up to 44 at noon but is now back down to 43. Need It to drop more.

Rain and 43/40. Temp has dropped 5 degrees since rain started at 8:45 this morning, 2 hours ago.

It certainly was last year for us. We had a whopping 0.5" which was our total for the year!

Had to mow my backyard today. Thanks winter. Thought I could have at least 3 to 4 months off from that!

It woke me up when the line came thru. I had expected the same but thankfully found nothing down.

After a bit of OT today, I will get 15 solid days of vacation. Then after that it will be only 26 days until I retire. Woohooooooo.

FedEx ground sucks. I usually try not to use them but I ordered a bunch of stuff from Wallyworld and it promised a Saturday delivery. I waited as long as I could and figured they would just drop it off at the door like UPS and USPS does. At 4:30 I had to leave for about an hour and of course a short while later they showed up and then left without leaving the packages. Why they don't give a time at least within a few hours when they will deliver is beyond me. They gave me a 12 hour window. I will do my best to never use them again if I can help it. They are worse than the cable guy. Now I have to wait until Monday and hope they get here before I leave for work. Now I got a notice that they will deliver Monday by 8 PM. The holding site is over an hour away so going there is a no go.

And gives my area 3". Yep very legit for middle of November!

Wow, quit a change in the forum today. It's very bright now! Need some shades.

We have decided to come home tomorrow from our trip, cutting it short by 2 days. Luckily the airline has allowed us to change our flight at no charge due to Dorian. Thursday is going to be busy since we have no food or gas for the generator. Hopefully it will either miss us big time or weaken as it comes up the coast and not be a big issue.

Am sick to my stomach watching Dorian. We are still in Colorado but have our 3 pups at home. Not sure what to do. It will cost us $400 to change our flight to an earlier day if needed but the way models are changing daily, just don't know.

Heading to Colorado tomorrow for some camping, hiking, and hopefully tagging a few 14'ers. Fun times are a coming!
