  1. I'll take it but this far out, I still don't believe it.
  2. Low of 19.6, currently 40 and sunny. The big melt is on.
  3. After a high of 34, we are now down to 27 which is our current low.
  4. Had about 1/8 inch of ice followed by about 1/2" of sleet and maybe a dusting of snow. Thankfully the ice changed to sleet much earlier than expected. No power loss at all.
  5. Sleet mixing in pretty good now with a temp of 28. Seems like more sleet than rain. Hope this trend continues.
  6. 29 here in New Bern and freezing rain too. Main bridges are closed due to ice.
  7. Freezing drizzle here. 29 out there with winds in the 10 to 20 mph range. Ice already on cars, roofs and trees. Roads and grass still clear of ice.
  8. 29/27 here in New Bern. Been below freezing since early this morning. Very worried about the icing predicted for us. NWS is saying from .45" to .55" likely with even higher amounts possible.
  9. Had a high at midnight of 37, 30 now. Cloudy with a very cold breeze blowing.
  10. It will take longer for it to freeze on the roads and ground, but as soon as it drops below freezing it will start attaching to trees, fences, cars, and power lines.
  11. I'll take the 4 to 6 inches of snow over ice any day. We are under an ice storm warning right now. Hopefully it changes to snow much sooner than forecasted. From the NWS: ...ICE STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM FRIDAY TO 7 AM ESTSATURDAY...* WHAT...Significant icing expected. Total Ice accumulations ofone quarter to one half of an inch.* WHERE...Jones, Pamlico, Southern Craven, West Carteret, InlandOnslow and Coastal Onslow Counties.* WHEN...From 4 AM Friday to 7 AM EST Saturday.* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to theice. Travel could be nearly impossible. Significantamounts of ice accumulations will make travel dangerous orimpossible. Travel is strongly discouraged. Commerce will likelybe severely impacted. If you must travel, keep an extraflashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of anemergency. Ice accumulations and winds will likely lead tosnapped power lines and falling tree branches that add to thedanger.
  12. Low of 27, high of 62. Sunny and mild today.
  13. Latest GFS looks much better for us. Less icing, more snow.
  14. Triples the snow for us. I like it. Would rather have snow that the forecasted icefest.
  15. Too bad you weren't there for the 80's. We had over a foot with 3 different storms in that decade.
  16. Yes, please let this happen. I got gas for the generator just in case the icefest happens.
