    yeah the temps in Maine and Atlantic Canada were record breaking.

    as with the past few summers here - it's not the actual temps on a given day that are unusual, it's the persistence of the above-normal temps (particularly at night).

    85/71 in Tenleytown - we tend to get more humid than DCA for some reason. Perhaps it's proximity to wooded areas. DCA is 88/68.

    don't let it fool you folks!! it's the calm before the storm!! lol - seriously though it is a splendid morning. i was out setting up some sprinklers for our lawn and a bunch of stuff we planted this spring. goal is to keep everything alive over the next 10 days

    DCA logged a 90F today - first of many coming up. My daughter's day care did a zoo field trip today - definitely would've preferred the temps from a couple days ago lol.

    i remember once flying back to NYC from the UK. We landed at JFK around 11pm and the flight attendant upon landing gave the time and the local temp of 86F / 30C. All the Brits were like "WTF???" I laughed and was like yeah welcome to NYC in July.

    DCA hit 81F with the humidity in check - doesn't get much better.
