    I was at PSU during the Blizzard of '96 so that has a special place in my heart as well. We missed out on the crazy totals (only 18 inches, haha).

    My opinion on that may not be well received here. Things are not as they have been in the past. The oceans are vastly altered in temperature and currents. These new variables make the long range more unpredictable. Models are struggling with it.

    My non expert opinion on the models is that it is related to climate change. They are struggling to be accurate because things are constantly changing and creating more variables than in the past.
