  1. Bretton Woods reported 202-244. Loon should definitely be lower. My total is a bit higher than 177 - I haven't updated in a while but certainly lower than 200.
  2. Stopped by one of our listing in Dalton. Cool view with snow on the hills and nothing in the valley. You can see the CT river below and the NEK hills of VT right behind it.
  3. 0.75" overnight here, now up to 32 with light snow. I want to puke.
  4. Haha yeah I hope they will appreciate it. Tough to tell. It's rural here, no doubt. Luckily because of the demographics of this specific resort there's also a lot of VERY successful people around, and because of our job most of the people we hang out with are CEOs and entrepreneurs. But it's an island surrounded by some pretty extreme poverty and apathy. Still, I think it's a great place to raise a kid.
  5. Skiing was epic today! Resort closes tomorrow, but I'm assuming today will be my last day (at least at Bretton Woods). The glades STILL skied well. They've been open non stop since before Thanksgiving. That's rather remarkable.
  6. We are up to 64 now and it's incredible. The snow is just sizzling away. Lawn is showing up. Still a foot at the stake but that's because it's sheltered. Watching carefully the forecast for Monday. Last time we flooded it was due to 5-7" of rain in about 8 hours and it was a true flash flood - came and went in about 2 hours. The Ammo (which my house is on) starts at Lakes of The Clouds, just up the mountain, so the river level responds very quickly in both directions. Forecasts so far keep it to minor flooding at worst, which is a good 3 feet lower than needed for trouble. Keeping fingers crossed and duct tape handy.
  7. I posted it in the other thread but aside from the temperature, the skiing today was outstanding. Firm surface underneath with a few inches of powder on top. Even the glades skied nicely. Incredible that the glades have been open non stop since November
  8. Epic skiing today but feels so cold being stuck in the 20s with flurries. Can't believe closing day is just a week away.
  9. Haha not personally... but renters certainly do! That house that the camera is on is a full time rental. I live on the same property, and I'm building a new house on the same lot. In other news, it's dumping snow right now. Really low visibility.
  10. Started as sleet here but over to fat flakes. Temp 30F
  11. Annoying as it is, I can see how impossible that would be. Take yesterday... You would have to be able to capture the 15 degrees variations I saw driving around a 30 mile loop. It would require a ridiculous amount of data
  12. Definitely a possibility. Love the mountains and their microclimates. Back home. Down to 29 with a few snowflakes and freezing drizzle
  13. Wild temp differences here this morning. Was 31 with snow at home, it's 37 with rain in Franconia near Cannon, 39 in Franconia center
  14. To each his own. I enjoy cold summer nights and warm but not hot days. When I lived in Boston I always looked forward to the few chilly nights we got. The short growing season is definitely a negative, and many things just don't grow well even with nightime temps going into the 40s let alone frost, which as @dendrite mentioned can happen any time of the year (although so far since moving here we've never had frost in July, but we've had 30's every month).
  15. The radiational cooling is perhaps my least favorite aspect of living here. Mornings can be just brutal. I've never counted but I feel it's rare to have clear skies in the winter and not have negative lows. Someone can look at my weather station records and figure out how often it actually happens. But either way it's a lot more than I like! In the summer though it's pretty awesome. I love those chilly summer mornings, where it's in the 40s when you wake up and 70s a few hours later.
  16. I'm at 1500 ft and not sure how many miles North of Bridgewater so by those metrics essentially the Arctic Circle. It's certainly tough to be up here and not like winter, but summers are awesome too. They just happen to be rather short.
  17. Skiing is great though
  18. Hard to gauge accumulation with the wind but looks like about 1/4" so far
  19. Somebody please unplug it. Although that would put me over 200" and that's kinda cool. #notgonnahappen
  20. Lol. 45 and heavy snow squalls here
  21. This mornings snow put us just over last year's total snowfall at 180.3". So now it can officially stop and switch to spring
  22. Just shoot me. Snow has gotten pretty heavy now. I'm so over it
  23. Light snow started a few minutes ago
