  1. Hey this is a LONG shot but worth mentioning. If anyone is interested, we are looking for a receptionist/real estate assistant for our new location right at the base of the ski resort. Aside from receptionist, the main role is to assist with customer emails, phone calls, answer basic questions about our condos, ordering supplies and a variety of administrative tasks. With time (or if we get a more proficient candidate) would also like to assist with payroll, owner payments and reports, and some basic bookkeeping. We have been growing rapidly (from 5 to just about 40 units in less than 2 years), and the job has a lot of upside potential for the right candidate as we continue to grow. Pay is competitive (start at $15/hr) with 1 week off, fully paid medical and dental, and as a side perk we get $10 lift tickets on weekdays. Weekend work is required. Could be a good opportunity for someone with the right skills/interest looking to move up here and enjoy our weather extremes.
  2. Yes that was my last year trying to grow tomatoes. I had cherry tomatoes JUST starting to turn and poom - gone. Then of course it warmed up and stayed warm for quite a while after that, but not enough for them to recover.
  3. Lol that's what North Conway feels like now. When I first started coming up I had a house in Bartlett and at that time it felt like Scandinavia
  4. Yes We radiate like a mofo here, so this is not at all unusual. My kid goes to school in Whitefield and they're balmy compared to us lol, so pretty much on time. Earliest I've seen it was August 17 2 or 3 years ago.
  5. No issues here. He can give a shut out to Bretton Woods Rentals lol
  6. A better picture now that the sun is out
  7. 32F on the dot at the moment. First frost!
  8. Lol. We used to go chestnut picking a lot when I was a kid in italy. There are entire forests there of chestnut trees. Prickly but fun
  9. Signs of fall are everywhere but this tree in my backyard by the wetland is really pushing it
  10. Lol For those wondering, it's called Lost River because it runs through a series of glacial caves, so it's underground for a good portion of the valley
  11. Took the kids to Lost River Gorge today. First time, it was a lot more fun than I expected. Great views of Kinsman Notch too
  12. NWS has a low of 46 for us but it's already 49. Given we've been in the 30s 3 times already this month, I'm wondering if we end up with a frost as well
  13. Whats the sqft? About 3200 sf (I believe) with the finished basement, 5 bedrooms. Thanks! The landscaper is doing an awesome job too (work in progress). Lots of rocks and boulders, a large patio with log pergola, firepit and a big waterfall/pond. Very mountain-y
  14. we're going with an RSF fireplace, which gives out up to 70,000 BTUS and has a heat distribution system that can bring heat into the finished basement as well (it can even be ducted into the HVAC). So it's a bit of a combo between a fireplace and a stove
  15. Alex, nice place man. When's the party? Good question. Should probably time it with a Noreaster with 12" upslope on the back side
  16. Haha yes. Bretton Woods is not quite as expensive (plus we built it on our land, so we have 3 rentals and our house on the same 32 acre lot). It’s been under construction for 2 years. I’m so over it, but the end product is pretty close to my dream home. The logs are 18” wide - we had to get them from Idaho. The reason I picked this plan was because of all the rooflines. Can’t wait to see it covered in snow.
  17. Even I can’t see MWN today lol Makes me miss my wood stove. Moved into my new house (picture attached) and we are putting in a heating fireplace but they start on Tuesday
  18. It’s kind of awful here for a “summer” day. 62/48 with a raw wind
  19. Lol had to look that up. We went to Weirs. Ellacoya looks pretty awesome too!
  20. Took the kids down to Lake Winni today since my oldest starts school on Tuesday and summer is quickly coming to an end. I don't think I ever quite appreciated how nice it is, and only an hour from here. Too bad I didn't think about it till now!!!
  21. 38.3 here, about 4 degrees more than yesterday. Third low in the 30s this August, not bad
  22. Was down to 34.7 this morning. Yikes.
