  1. Yep. Been bringing plants in, it's time!
  2. Looks like first frost or freeze tomorrow night. Should really speed up the leaf change!
  3. Count me out for cutters. While we've had overall decent amounts of snow, I feel like we've seen a ton of those in the past 2 years. Maybe we could arrange for 4 months of moist N-NW winds?
  4. I've had a white Thanksgiving every year since moving here (can't even remember for sure how many that is but it would be 3 or 4 past years)
  5. Yes pretty normal here. Seems early but it really isn't. My mom reminded me this morning that last year she arrived for a visit on September 15 and she thought at that point the foliage was "spectacular" - lol, for us it had just started. First foliage season in NNE can be a pretty amazing experience
  6. Hard to see in the picture but not only does it feel like Fall... Colors are really starting to pop
  7. 38.8 here. Frost is not far, but would be great to keep it at bay for another couple of weeks!
  8. Heat going on tonight. The sun is starting to lose some heating power so the house has less less warmth to start with. Currently 47
  9. We need a new thread lol. It doesn’t feel like the warm season at all out there! Windy cloudy cold and drizzly
  10. We’ve had more seasonal rentals requests this year than ever before. It’s crazy.
  11. It's funny how everyone has their thing. I like snowpack but my #1 thing is snow covered trees. Works out perfectly - most of the time - in my locale, where trees tend to be snow covered more than most other locations I've experienced, even if places like Bartlett down the notch do much better in snowpack (even theirs is generally much more short lived than ours, it can get quite a bit deeper than up here)
  12. As a NH resident, you can get a season pass for the Auto road pretty cheap - about $100. We have done a few times this year already, and it’s fun to park at the top and walk down to Lakes of The Clouds. My kids would never make it otherwise (4 and 6)
  13. Yeah I think the clouds will save us!
  14. I have also added my first wintry ptype of the season for the summit of Mount Washington. MWN looks like they will sneak into the low 30s tonight in CAA. Moist layer looks very shallow and will be capped by warmer air in the inversion layer...but that may be enough to squeeze out some freezing precip on the summit before things dry out. Brrr
  15. My P&C has a high of 57 tomorrow and doesn't make it to 70 at all in the entire period. Hope that's wrong!!! Also hope we don't decouple or we get our first frost or freeze. Not ready
  16. You'll pass my dentist in Gorham. Great office lol
  17. I have driven by your area many times. Upslope drops off significantly from Twin to Jefferson, but it does pick up again in your area and seems pretty similar to mine. Which usually translates into enough to get sick of it. Heading back tonight from Bermuda. Looks like I missed our first 30s of the season (Diane proudly informed me the thermometer hit 39. I wanted to cry lol)
  18. Just makes you realize how much more seriously the US could be taking Covid. It's not like we don't have the means.
  19. Escaped to Bermuda. They're really doing a good job here keeping covid at bay. Must take a test 7 days prior to departure and you get tested again when you arrive and every 4 days.
  20. We have dozens of those. They set up shop in the trees in front of my dining room and take turns at the feeders. It's like an airport of tiny birds. I love watching them - they're feisty little suckers. And fortunately our bears don't seem to care at all for the feeders.
  21. 2018 was when my tomatoes froze in August
  22. The random freezes are what makes the growing season so short. A couple of years ago we had a single cold night in mid August that killed my tomatoes, followed by not even frost for another month. That was frustrating...
  23. Correct - I have circled my spot above. It's the lowest spot in this high elevation valley, close to the river - it radiates like crazy. I've seen difference of 5-10 degrees between here and the Mount Washington Hotel 1.5 miles down the road on a slight hill!
