  1. Love the view from my office window on these snow days
  2. Light snow and 11 degrees. Feels like winter
  3. Getting some heavier snow tonight. Just got a special weather statement for some heavy snow showers bringing a “quick inch”
  4. Some light snow falling. At least it feels like winter
  5. Most models/members of ensembles show 6+. Still a few days out but it’s looking good; even better is the fact that the storm seems to mark the beginning of a snowy period, with lots of upslope chances in addition to storms. Fingers crossed… I’m ready for the glades
  6. Just slipped into the single digits here. Perfect weather for snow making ahead of the storm!
  7. Actually getting more than expected here, closing in on an inch. Had dinner at Thorn Hill in Jackson and there wasn’t anything when we got there, but was all covered by the time we left. Not nice to drive in through the Notch in, but nice to see
  8. Wasn’t expecting anything beyond flurries but closing in on an inch here
  9. The limited terrain at Bretton Woods skied awesome today. Surprisingly soft and powdery
  10. I got the Cologuard test done. Covered by insurance every 3 years starting at 45; it’s pretty awesome. Still good to get a colonoscopy done as well, but can’t beat the convenience of a genetic test - almost as accurate (and in some cases, better since it can catch earlier stages) and far easier
  11. Funny how perspectives change… I used to think the first when I first moved up here, now I feel like North Conway is where I’d go if I got sick of the cold weather lol. Of course, it’s all relative - and in CAD situations they’re far colder than Bretton Woods
  12. Liking the 12z GFS much better than the previous few runs
  13. We've had a rainbow for over half an hour. Pretty cool, not sure I've seen one last that long
  14. Yep, been open daily for a while and it’s actually been pretty nice except for the pouring rain lol. Amazing what resorts can do even in crappy patterns these days. Besides, ski resorts NEVER make money until the holiday season. There could be 6 feet of snow and still very few skiers this time of the year. Same with April.
  15. I’d have thought the average stake depth would be higher by now. Interesting to see that while this pattern is annoying, it’s really not that crazy. I remember plenty of seasons where coverage by mid December was thin - and plenty of snowpacks wiped around the holidays only to pretty much start fresh in January. But it’s easy to forget those and only think of the seasons when we were skiing glades by Thanksgiving
  16. Took my team up the cog today to the new Waumbek station at 3700’. They did a nice job, it’s a fun little trip.
  17. May want to avoid Wildcat and head to Bretton Woods if you’re trying to avoid icy conditions
