  1. Stupid question but what do I know. Is the op run one of those (like p01), or are the ensembles all separate runs?
  2. Gotcha. I thought that was a local reference
  3. Yeah, I mean… we saw snow out of the storm that ended with me ferrying guests across the river which had taken over my driveway… it did not help the ski area Although the follow up upslope rod at least give us a white Christmas My hope is that there is natural snow left as the storm pulls away. I’m always in a precarious spot with easterly winds to begin with lol
  4. I’m still wondering about these arctic outbreaks. Must have downsloped because I think we’ve been below 0 once if that this year, and if I’m above 0 in the middle of winter it is not an arctic outbreak in my book lol
  5. Nothing like a good snowy thread tile to make sure we shovel bucketfuls of water this year.
  6. Yeah I posted it in the other thread but today was just stunningly beautiful
  7. Bretton Woods looks like Mt Vesuvius today
  8. And for all the warmth, today is just unbelievably beautiful on the slopes.
  9. Looks like a volcano eruption in Bretton Woods lol
  10. Got another inch of fluff overnight. Still a few flurries but clouds are breaking, might sneak in a sunny day!
  11. Another picture then I swear I’ll shut up, I love how cozy it feels tonight
  12. Very nice snow globe evening. It’s been snowing for over 36 hours now; amazing how much that changes the feel, even though we’ve only gotten 4-5” in total. For people visiting, it just feels like winter and while there were only 6 top to bottom routes, the skiing was quite decent, especially given the lack of crowds
  13. Talked to several people on the chair today who commented about how good the skiing was. Everyone was happy, and no crowds at all. Amazing how much difference 3” can make
  14. Actually snowing pretty well this morning. Let’s enjoy it while we have it lol
  15. Started snowing again. Upslope flow kicking in?
  16. 32.0 exactly right now, but it was 33.1 at some point earlier, so lots of compaction. Definitely would have been better if it was just a bit colder. Just measured 1.4"
  17. Not a lot of snow but does look nice. And skiing was quite good today.
  18. Light snow, about 1/4” accumulation. This year, that should be a warning event
  19. Lol. Crawford, but close enough. If I had the option the top part of the notch around Willey House would be perfect to build a home. Perfect combination of upslope and retention. Too bad it’s all National Forest lol
  20. Some light snow now in Conway. The Notch definitely looked more wintry. Amazing ability to hold snow under the worst conditions.
  21. In the meantime, first time we see the sun in what feels like ages here!
  22. What happened to the AFDs gradual cooling? Seems to be getting warmer lol and I think they’re having pina coladas on top of Mt Washington
  23. Must be age. I’ve spent many years stressing over every little drop of rain falling in the winter months, whether here or in Mass, so I know the agony.
  24. I definitely have never seen anything like this in my 7 or so years up here. Sure, we’ve had storms wipe out the snowpack but they were generally followed by at least some upslope within a few days. This year just feels like a never ending fall - except for the decent stretch we had in December. I have to admit, I’m not hating it nearly as much as I thought I would. I’ve probably seen over 1000” of snow since moving here, it’s ok if we take a break and I’ve actually enjoyed the skiing more than I often do this time of the year when it’s in the single digits all day - my least favorite part of New England skiing. Give me a few groomers and temps in the upper 30s and I can have a great day out there. Monday was one of those days. But it’ll be nice to have a normal winter again some day. It’s been a while!
