  1. No fortunately I don't think ice dams are too much of an issue. I've heard it's happened but it's rare until you get down into Littleton and especially a bit south of there. It's pretty shallow up here, as we are only a few miles from its source at Lakes of the Clouds, which I think reduces the potential for significant jamming
  2. Yes, snow is deep and water content is high. Doubly concerned for Friday given our propensity to flood. Where you now see so much snow you may see trees float by come Monday! Grrrrr. A bit anxious about it. Modeling for the Ammo river doesn't seem to indicate flooding but it seems to my inexperienced eye that they are underestimaing the snowmelt (see attachment). I can't imagine the pack can survive 24 hours of heavy rain at 40+ degrees. The graph below seems to indicate only a 20% or so loss
  3. Another 1.5" overnight bringing the total to 7.5". Sun is out, 2.3F
  4. Same here. Hard to tell the amount, it's quite windy
  5. I own a company that does vacation rentals in Bretton Woods - www.brettonwoodsrentals.com. You can do a tour of the observatory, just make sure you book in advance. The Cog is fun but you only get about an hour at the top (3 hour round trip); driving gives you a bit more time to explore. Of course, you could do both. PM if you need a place to stay - we have lots of options!
  6. Decent snow now. About 1/4"
  7. Not much going on here. Just some occasional light snow, about 1/10"
  8. Snowing again here. Nice to be home.
  9. Back home from Tahoe! 7/8" fresh snow on the ground, but really surprised to find 11" at the stake, which is EXACTLY what it was at when I left. If you add today's inch and the 2" we got when I was back, it means we lost less than 3" of snowpack during the warmup. Surprising and impressive - but I guess it's pretty much solid ice at this point. Tahoe was awesome. Skied Heavenly, Northstar and Sqaw Valley. It's like Spring skiing every day there, such a different experience. Scenery was also beautiful. And my 2 year old took her first turns without using the straps! But I'm glad to be home!
  10. Doesn't Killington have one?
  11. @powderfreak we need you to re-run today's 18Z from your basement, please!
  12. More mystery precip tonight. Looks like extremely light snow on camera but I can’t really tell. Too late to call My house sitter and ask but it’s weird.
  13. Had no idea it was going to snow today!
  14. Greetings from Tahoe! Not a ton of snow but it's like fantastic spring skiing in December
  15. I'm thinking it's some sort of snizzle, very close to the camera lens which makes it look like more. It's on all the cameras but looks like frost on the metal rod in this picture or on the grill.
  16. Hmm... nope, I checked the other cameras too and there's definitely something falling, but it's just a very light coating. Definitely something weird with one camera - the wind makes it seem much heavier, but there's also some flakes falling. WTF?
  17. Just made it to Tahoe! Beuatiful scenery. Not as much snow as at home, and looks like it's snowing moderately at the moment in Bretton Woods!
  18. Light snow falling here at my house. The mountain has really been pumping snow (worried about possible rains?), and in these temps (just warmed up above 0) it looks (and sounds) like a volcano from my house lol.
  19. LOL. We actually end up pretty similar; he gets more under certain setups, I get more in others. Of course, I believe I'm also 800 feet higher than he is, which makes his numbers even more impressive
  20. Underwhelming here - just under an inch. JSpin is back in the lead
  21. Just 7/8" here, with some flurries at the moment.
  22. We are experiencing constipated upslope. It's been trying all day but never really seems to get going!
