I wish I had it in me to take the dog out lol. She just goes out on her own. I love the snow but hate getting cold - I know, I know. I took her on a long walk a couple of days ago but it was a bit of a pain without snowshoes. When you float you're fine, but you break through quite often and you sink deep, which combined with the back pain I've been having is not fun. Surprised how easy it still is to sink given all the mixes.

That will be me next year. Which probably means we will get all straight snow events or no snow at all

Agree with the changeovers being frustrating. To me they have detracted from an otherwise great winter snowcover wise. I'd rather get 4" of pure snow than 7" of mixed stuff. That's what I love about upslope - never worry about mixing. Tonight's upslope has been very very light so far though.

I hope so! I'm sick of mixed events. Yesterday was perfect. Sure, the depth keeps increasing but untainted events are much more enjoyable

Another head scratching forecast... P&C gives 80% chance of snow over the weekend with no mention of mixing; AFD says: Mixed precipitation will transition to rain in southern New Hampshire and coastal and southern interior Maine. Farther north a mix of sleet and freezing rain will persist through the day...especially in the mountains where significant ice accumulation will be possible. #confused

Snow's getting high!

In spite of so many mixed events it's been a good winter for snowpack. Haven't seen grass since November. The area of my yard in the picture is by far the least snowpack (very exposed to the wind) and you can still see decent depth from the picnic table, the completely buried firepit and even the Xmas tree which is in a large pot. In the woods it's far deeper.

Jackson is great, but a bit of a hike to the parks. It's all good of course, but you could consider splitting up a bit and do a couple of nights in Jackson, a couple in the Tetons (there are some nice lodges on the lakes there!), and then a couple of days in the south side of the park (Old Faithful Lodge is awesome if you can do it, or one of the places around the Tetons), a couple of days on the Northwest side (West Yellowstone has some good lodging options) and a day on the Northeast side in Cook City MT. It will avoid you some driving (can be quite trafficky in the summer). Just some ideas - you really can't go wrong, that area is just amazing. Try it in the winter some time too... It's a weenie dream lol

Been there a handful of times both summer and winter. Both breathtaking. Hard to give any advise - it's all incredible but I'd recommend a night or two in each side of the park, so you don't have to drive back and forth too much, including a night in Cook City MT, which is a fantastic small mountain town

0.3" in today's light snow. Probably more in reality as it was compacting down significantly and I only measured once. A few pictures of the river from my property (posted in another thread). The ice blocks from the big rainstorm we had are very cool.

Went for a walk along the river on my property. Some really cool ice formation. Snow in the woods is DEEP. Nice snowgloby day!

11.5. I'm at dinner in Hart's location though at the bottom of Crawford Notch towards Bartlett and our depth pales compared to down here. Looks like at least 40"

Off topic but I went snowmobiling in the Notch today. Man that was fun. Now I really want a snowmobile lol

127.5" for the season; a bit ahead of last year's 110.4" so far in the season, but not a huge difference

2.75" so far today, and snowing moderately again after a bit of a lull. I realized how heavy it was when I went skiing - the overnight stuff is cement!
