While our weather may be a bit boring at the moment, I started tapping the maples which gave me a really good reminder of how deep the pack is. When you sink, you sink deep! My dog started digging and hit something... I went to check it out, it was the top of my wheelbarrow buried under the snow! It's a bit unreal to feel like you're walking on a surface and realize that the ground is several feet below you. Also cool to notice that the tags that I placed on some trees at eye level are now around waste level. A bit surreal - and not something you really appreciate by just "looking at the snowpack". Took this picture in one of my "breakthroughs". And of course there's more snow under my foot!
