    Whenever I bring up the fact that that less snow may be a reality we may have to learn to deal with...I get weenied and folks complain about being negative. Look y'all...this is what's been happening. And we just have to find healthier ways to deal with it. If this is what's happening...then it's happening. I said last year that we may get to a point (not now but maybe years from now) where this forum may become the SE forum if this trend continues (folks sent the icon for that one too, lol). But I mean...if we become like them, folks may lose interest after awhile..I know I probably would! How we have been is...at least it works out sometimes. But IF the "sometimes" get less, then I'm not sure what the point in tracking would be. But maybe that's just me.

    Next Friday not working out would hurt a lot more than Tuesday. Because after that we have a bit of a relax (may not last long though)...but that would mean we got nothing out of the first favorable period we've had, smh I mean I GUESS it's okay that at least there's a storm on all guidance right now.

    Well technically thr Euro never got worse than 0z Thursday. Told ya a model run of zilch can't show negative zilch...technically it got better

    I see. Unless I missed something, I don't believe that has been discussed much here...hence why I didn't know. I mean, I heard jet "extension" and "retraction" but not that something out there was being affected by the elephant.

    I didn't know that...and I'm not sure you ever made an explanation about the NS and the jet. I thought the book was more about the perfect track rainstorms, and things being too warm temperature-wise. I don't know enough about the relationship of that jet and climate. Wasn't purposely trying to be obtuse...just didn't know about that particular connection with the NS not digging (had you talked about that specific thing before?) No need to yell at me for ignorance (this stuff can be complicated)...legit didn't know that. My bad

    Are you willing to step away--like all the way away--from this site and tracking for a day or two? I think it will help (sure helped me last year).

    Given all the crickets I get whenever I try to bring up anything about how we manage our emotions...I have doubts about how many here want to talk about their feelings, lol But seriously though...we've got to do better than this. I'm working on some techniques myself (a site blocking app being one of them!)

    Still a storm there on the gfs and cmc...gfs actually looked more SS to my novice eyes despite this run just missing south.

    Not sure there's any fixing to the problems. Mods don't have time to always clean up the posts when it's not storm mode...people have to police themselves. But unfortunately, snow is an emotional topic here, and hence even among the great analysis you also get...emotions. I do wish we could help each other find healthier ways to deal with it, but hey...probably too idealistic, lol I for one am working on new ways to deal. Takes some time but it's doable!

    Well this one certainly won't be going in the logbook...this was just NS multiple wave chaos that ruined this one. This was just a bit unlucky...on the next (while also enjoying whatever scenery snow this gives us if any)

    Yeah I mean unlike some other fails where it goes from snowier to more rain, yet still some higher elevations could see a thump or something...so there's a purpose in keeping it up. But if it's literally nothing but flurries? Ehhh....

    Maybe this is only true in my case, but...to me...I believe there's an addictive quality with this as well. I see what my brain does when we're tracking something. The shot of adrenaline on the Zs when there's potential (literally dropping everything to check the run), the dopamine of a good run, the opposite of a bad. There's a real give (and take) of the brain's reward system...and when there's a letdown, the mood is a bit disrupted (temporarily). BUT...what I'm finding this season is...the less exposure to this place (and even tracking) when things are crappy works wonders. The site blocker app is becoming my best friend, lol Not many here appreciate my psychological musings of this hobby, but I'm telling ya, folks...it's worth it to delve into that side to better manage your reaction to the not-so-good that can happen with this hobby.

    It's one Op run at day 8...at this range all we need is for A storm to be there. There is 0% chance that's exactly how the storm is gonna go. I think folks are responding more emotionally due to being disappointed by Tuesday...and I get that. But even so...it's Day 7/8 people, lol

    I can't talk whether you're just ignoring what people say to refute this on purpose or you actually can't see it. Rainstorms are rainstorms and nobody pays attention to shifts in track because they don't typically matter to most of us! Why can't you see that? Model waffling happens all year around--just largely unnoticed.

    The trends on ops and ensembles aren't good though...hard to deny that. But at least we could still get some scenery snow this time.
