  1. Heck yeah, Hogan! And great call, Mappy (mother always knows best )
  2. Interesting theory...that would be kind of funny if Hogan pulls off something internationally that the federal level should've done, lol (wasn't there another state that got something from another country?) P.S. I'm not sure spitballing is a very sanitary thing to do right now...
  3. Lol Isn't that this one? (which I despise)
  4. That's just it, though...on something like this where you have somethings that really need more time to be better understood, and then if the data appears one way to you but then you hear somebody else give another interpretation of the data that will make it seem like "eh, it's not that bad"...it's hard to know what to believe sometimes. I'm a person that just wants to be on the right side of an issue...but for this, things seem to still be evolving. Right now, I have no clue whether what we're doing has been too much or just enough. It's just a difficult situation to assess. But what is clear is that what we are dealing with is a different animal than what most of us have seen in our lifetimes! (unless we have any 102+ year old users on here that survived the 1918 pandemic, lol)
  5. What bothers me is that some people are trying to discredit him and the other experts as if their opinion doesn't have any weight (and as if they're part of some "mass hysteria conspiracy")...It sews just enough doubt to make ya second-guess things.
  6. Just had to make sure...seeing as there are still some parroting the "it's just like the flu!" mantra (although hopefully they're in the minority by this point, lol)
  7. Us unfortunately hitting 40k in fatalities today has me thinking about the flu death comparisons...so, that 40-60k average for the regular flu? It takes a whole season to get to that, right? (Perhaps 6 months?). The fact that we hit 40k in less than two months...wouldn't that kinda make a case for this already being worse?
  8. That's precisely what I mean, lol 2014 was a golden opportunity to build something...but the departures of Cruz and Markakis...and the Davis Contract...and not investing in the international market...it all went down the toilet!
  9. Angelos is singlehandedly responsible for the irrelevance of the O's for years (and for the current situation we're only just starting to dig out of...Angelos finally finds some success from 2012-2014, and still managed to find a way to screw it up!). I am thankful that the sons are not taking after the father--and that gives me hope!
  10. Just a little historical perspective...
  11. Yeah I'm wary of that too given how past weekend seemed better and then...this week happened
  12. Someone on fb tried to say this wasn't an actual pandemic based on this...thoughts? (For context, I had said she should be careful before comparing the virus to just your run-of-the-mill seasonal germs and such)
  13. Now, I don't know enough about the subject, but...an opinion of this professor (apparently a mathematician?) is that it was basically for nothing and that the virus follows a fixed pattern regardless of shutdowns...thoughts? https://townhall.com/columnists/marinamedvin/2020/04/15/israeli-professor-shows-virus-follows-fixed-pattern-n2566915
  14. Wait, how....? How ya managed to sour that up I have no idea...but I'll give ya points for creativity, lol
  15. Yeah raw fatality number comparisons are already looking weaker...if we are less than two months into this and already have over 37k...and someone said the average flu season brings 40-60k? This might already be worse in that statistical category, smh I mean...has the flu ever killed that many in under two months?
  16. Well, we don't have the immunity, but we are certainly looking like a herd of something...
  17. Thought it was mutton chops? (although pork chops sounds funnier, lol)
  18. Looks like that was aftert a pretty awesome ice event! Lolol
  19. I'd imagine colleges are gonna let the requirements for those tests go (some colleges may have already decided to do that)
  20. I'm still wondering why they're still baby stepping it like this at this point. I mean...what would you hypothetically do after May 15th? Lol
  21. So you're saying that the population size doesn't make their method as easily applicable here? (was asking about this earlier since I've been seeing some citing them as an argument for us not needing to have shutdown)
  22. Okay folks...so someone posted this and I wanted to know your thoughts (aside from the conspiracy "tyrannical government" claims) And forgive me if the Sweden comparison has already been discussed here. I've always wondered what happens if we and half the world got it wrong and did all this for nothing? Not saying that's the case, but...is that still a possibility?
  23. I can imagine that nobody wants to say "close for the rest of the year", but...if ya gotta extend it until at least May 15th...is there really any point in trying to bring them back in after that?
  24. Oh dang it! Now if I had read it like at the beginning I woulda made a better assumption
  25. Same, hahaha Ya know @supernovasky I think it's something about your screename...(I guess it's the -vasky suffix? Lol)
