  1. Awesome! Sounds like a great spot to really feel those rhythms up close and personal! Woo!
  2. Ah but it's even more than that...see that rip in the page? If you look closely you tell that that orignallly said "Bonaparte"...lol Beethoven saw Napoleon as a sort of hero for the common man...and thus Napoleon became the original inspiration for this symphony. But then...when he got the news that Napoleon had declared himself emperor of France ‘So he is no more than a common mortal! Now he, too, will tread underfoot all the rights of man [and] indulge only his ambition; now he will think himself superior to all men [and] become a tyrant!’ After that, an enraged Beethoven stormed over to the score and scratched out Bonaparte so hard that it ripped the paper...and thus it remains today, lol
  3. Now as far as the torch is concerned...wasn't that more of a long range pattern prediction? While I do relent on the "not room for anything behind" since that's more Day 7/8 (wasn't referring to anything beyond that, btw)...I just haven't seen much for this week's setup that says anything more than cold rain with snow n + w as depicted on the GFS. And with the UK coming in warmer too...eh, just looks messy. But after that, if we can keep playing the boundary wave game I agree we might have a chance to score on one.
  4. Yeah but I mean...we've had active shortwaves for the past month and ain't gotten but one or (or two if you're DC) to work. But of course, this is when you tell me that we were lucky to get anything out of 2 of the 5 and to never throw away other chances...and that more short waves=more spins of the wheel, and we always need multiple chances. How am I doing so far? Lol
  5. Ehh boo. Cold rainy this week, it looks like...and not much room for anything behind. Heh, first week in almost a month we won't have anything within 5-7 days to track! But I think we all need the break though...lol
  6. Unless the GFS is just giving us the reality earlier so we won't be sucked in...lol
  7. I think the GFS saves it's most whacked out solutions for Saturday 18z and 0z, lol
  8. Patience bro...I do think this week has been kinda tough on all of us.
  9. @Always in Zugzwang Ya ever seen this?
  10. Hey stop getting on here during a Beethoven concert! How dare ya....
  11. Boundary seems to have a little more confluence over top...still too warm this run but a little further south with the boundary, it appears.
  12. Nah I was referring to @Rjay posting the snow here, lol
  13. @stormtracker What beith this thing you've brought upon this subforum???
  14. Just why man, lol You cometh to torture and rub it in, don't ye?...
  15. I honestly don't know what questions to ask and not ask anymore (or if there's a limit). But I'm starting not to care aboru whatever the rule is...if I wanna know what happened on a particular model run, dang it I'm askin'! Like when @WinterWxLuvrhighlighted the vorts the other day? Very helpful! At least I know WHY the storm went the way it did, and how that vort was getting in the way. Was I angry at that vort (or the "tail" per se)? Absolutely! But at least I Iearned something about WHY the modeled solution was happening. Now tell me...was it wrong to ask that question? Too specific? Is it wrong to wanna know what's muckin' it up, and what might make a solution better/give us a better chance? All of the discussion this week helped me reach the conclusion that this was a long shot and I kinda tuned it out by lime Wednesday. But NOW...I know that any setup like this without some good blocking, and in a progressive pattern, is a long shot that probably won't happen outside a big fluke. And now I also am learning why more of a gradient pattern has somewhat better (but not guaranteed) chance of working in a pattern like this. None would I learn without asking.
