Now see what gets me is that there was a storm last year (and another even more so the previous year) that was cold enough but not tucked. Of course, lol

I still don't think we leave this month without measurable snow. Have no clue about next weekend, but...I don't know, a late Jan surprise feels like it's still on the table for some reason, lol (I may have smoked too much 'nac though) But IF we get any favorable trend in the pattern, end of month may be the time it would take from now to get something a little better.

I mean, if ya wanna play that game...GFS showed today's euro outcome like 12z yesterday didn't it? So like...it was ahead now behind? Lol Nah the models are still trying to figure this out. Euro wasn't a trend that was a frickin jump--when even that model does ya know they don't know!

You know this nina ain't actin' like a nina when now we WANT more NS interaction and may have trouble getting it, lol

We don't know that...every model is jumping all over the place atm...no model has been stubbornly in one camp or the other, imo

Let all of this make the case for all the misery on these boards up and down the east coast. I don't wanna hear nobody say "Ah it's unreadable" The frickle you think it is? Because of how things are going...that such a mystery??? So inconceivable that people are upset about snow? Yeah they gonna spout off...This and the possible bad snow future is the worst thing that could happen here. I personally am frustrated and depressed. It's not "just weather" to me and I can just poo-poo it away as no big deal. It's something that needs to go better and it hasn't been, and I wanna frickin' smash something in a rage room right about now lookin' at the dang perfect tracks and psu's reminders of it not being cold enough (which then sparks fears and depression about the future and this continuing) Can't do a bit about the weather but it's like if it don't get better...it's frickin' depressing. DJF are the only 3 months...the rest of the time is peace because it's Spring, Summer, Fall where it's not supposed to snow. I'd hate it in the south...but maybe that's our future climo I don't know.

Yeah that's been a recipie for disaster the last few years...how many times do we see all juice and then....warm (or last year when the juice looked jawsy and got pulled NW)

I don't see has convoluted when it really appears to be one element that determines the whole thing--the 50/50. But of course you could argue that the forming of the 50/50 itself is a bit convoluted and thread the needle, lol

What about last Jan? We had cold then, didn't we? And I can remember other cold Januarys since 2016 as well...and a few where the nina just didn't deliver favorable tracks and we were cold enough but missed the precip. So I can see one example (Feb 2020) where you can say warm...(maybe another Feb 2021), but I'm not seeing the warm Januarys you're seeing here. (Again, last year around this time we had a couple threats! And Feb just did what nina Febs do, imo)

Actually...If this one perfect tracks and rains...that's not only a problem for our climo but even further north up the corridor too...so at least we wouldn't be alone, lol I mean so far there has been a grand total of 1" for ALL the major 4 airports from BWI north! This everybody's "base state"?
