  1. so I left Pawleys Island yesterday at midnight and got to East Hartland about 6 PM and here’s the radar back in South Carolina now Lol!
  2. 30° and ready to leave Pawleys Island SC for East Hartland. I’ll be going through areas that have had snow, VA Maryland and PA. I came down here a couple days before Christmas after being in Hartland for the month after Thanksgiving and thought I would be missing all kinds of terrific snow events, lol. Been following the angst over the lack of snow but if we get a decent amount of snow before the end of the month and February and March are snowy I think most will think it was at least a decent winter.
  3. 25° and about a quarter inch of snow for the day
  4. 33° and a rain snow mix, mostly rain except when the precip picks up a bit, 1.20” Snow from the early morning precip.
  5. 28° Didn’t getthe high winds today although it is pretty gusty right at the moment. 2.95” total snow from this event.
  6. Moved up the road a bit to East Hartland, looks and feels pretty wintery today with the light snow from yesterday, total of about an inch on the ground.
  7. 10am yesterday morning, just a little slush but hey it was the first snow of the year
  8. Was just commenting on what seems like the prevalence of warm September October November‘s lately, but here’s another new norm, record low Arctic sea ice

  9. Temp dropped quickly yesterday evening but nothing after 1am, 30° for the low, no frost, this is Fall in Virginia. I hope to see an old fashioned New England autumn with a couple of strong cold fronts and maybe a coastal storm or two with rain and wind again as this is starting to seem like the new norm lately. I’m just an observer but I’ve been observing for a long time and with this kind of an autumn it looks like a long warm boring winter, IMHO Hope I’m wrong
  10. 28° and that’s frost that ended the growing season.
  11. That was an almost snowless winter, I don’t remember exactly how much snow we had that year but maybe 12 to 15 inches in Collinsville CT. if that.
  12. In Pawleys Island SC there are a lot of crossed fingers that this storm does not strengthen much if or when it emerges over water. Two years ago after crossing Florida Ian landed here and did serious damage to the island part of Pawleys although there was minimal damage on the mainland. I’m heading back to Connecticut before this thing arrives.
  13. Severe weather is not very common on the beach in Murrells Inlet SC aside from hurricanes however this one was impressive, four years ago this struck at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon and lasted for almost 2 hours, spun off a week tornado right on the beach, it was the most intense lightning I have ever seen
  14. The light rain of the last hour has switched to light snow, 32°
  15. Interesting afternoon, Steady light snow for several hours now with an occasional burst of heavier snow, A little over a quarter inch, drifting snow with the wind, lol, 12°
  16. 15° steady light snow for the last 45 minutes NW wind 15-25 mph
  17. 23° 0.50” for the day, never got above 25°
  18. steady light snow 23° just over a quarter inch of new snow
  19. The very light snow is now a steady light snow with a few bursts of moderate snow 25°
  20. freezing rain and sleet has turned back to snow in Barkhamsted 27°
  21. sleet and light snow in Southwick, Massachusetts 28° Moderate snow on top of the hill in Barkhamstead and 22° with 2 1/2 inches of snow as of half an hour ago
