  1. 2" of new snow this morning. 23 degrees.
  2. I had a 4:00 appointment scheduled at the local Urgent Care tomorrow, just to see a nurse to get a prescription filled. They called today to say they are closing and I can do a video visit. I never knew urgent cares closed for inclement weather. Hope it goes smoothly for your mother.
  3. Only made it to 30.7 here today. Currently 27 and about to plunge with snow cover, mostly clear skies and no breeze. Dew point is 9.
  4. 26/8 with a light northerly breeze and clouds on the increase. Barometer seems to have crested at 30.40"
  5. I understand how you feel. I lived in the DC burbs (Maryland) from 1982-2006. More snow was a factor in deciding to move here. It's rural where I am, but I can be in downtown Baltimore or downtown DC in about 75 minutes without traffic.
  6. 12Z HREF ensemble mean through Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
  7. I've had 4 snowfalls here that have gotten me to climo this season: a 2" one, a 4", an 8" and a 12" storm. Last time I had 6"+ three times in the same winter was 2013-14. Need 3.3" tomorrow for my sixth 30" season in 15 winters at this location.
  8. Would you be able to post this same map through 30 hours ? Interested to see what it shows after the first wave of precip moves away.
  9. Zwyts is actually posted up about 45 miles west of your blue dot, on the other side of the top of Virginia.
  10. Very briefly hit 46 midday today. Now 29. Had a 48 mph gust at 2:30 this afternoon. 3” snow depth, the lowest it’s been since 1/31.
  11. HGR to OKV already at 0.5" QPF by 12Z Thursday on the 12k NAM.
  12. Over a foot in my yard and 1.8" in Winchester 30 miles south of me. Don't think I've ever seen that happen before.
  13. Confidence is the same, but the forecasted impact isn't as severe. They mentioned in their forecast discussion that they expected moderate impact.
  14. 0.58" of rain overnight. All of it fell at 32 degrees. 4" of snow left on the ground.
  15. We hear about it when it hits a population center like Buffalo, but it doesn’t always make the news when it’s just headed for the Tug Hill. Last year in late February, with Lake Ontario not frozen due to the mild winter, there was a band that dropped 4’ north of Syracuse.
  16. That low was 976mb just offshore of Portland, Maine. Very underrated storm with high impact over a huge area of the country.
  17. Bumped up to 32.4 degrees with the heavier showers moving through. HGR has reported freezing rain at 33 for the past 3 hours,
  18. The 12k NAM output for here matches February 14, 2007. 3-6" of snow then 3" of sleet before a quarter-inch of freezing rain. That one was one of the most impactful winter storms I've seen here. Only time I could walk on top of snowpack without breaking through. Just a surreal scene.
  19. Fog and mist here and the temp has slipped below freezing. 31.6 degrees now. Hopefully a glaze on the diminishing snow pack overnight will help preserve it through the brief spike in temps tomorrow morning.
  20. Most all of the models, with the exception of one not to be NAMed, have surface temperatures barely budging through much of the day on Thursday. Takes a pretty stout CAD to pull that off.
  21. New WWA issued a few minutes ago calling for the most icing above 1000'. You may do well there.
  22. Main slug of precip on the ICON aimed at Knoxville, TN at the same time (hr. 69) the 12k NAM has it pointed at Lousiville, KY. That's a 250 mile difference.
