  1. My bad. I often confuse those two (well I forget HFD has it’s own water training division).
  2. River Rescue was out training and they observed a kayak with two youngish dudes going near the dam, passing all marked buoys and warnings. RR went to aid them and while trying to prevent the kayak from going over they both did. No real injuries thankfully. That dam is incredibly dangerous and people are idiots for getting anywhere near it.
  3. SE/SC Louisiana might be in for a world of hurt. Those people are so special, it hurts my heart.
  4. I’ll be back home in Texas for a week in mid August. I can’t complain about anything herewith that coming soon lol.
  5. Hopefully it's not as humid as last weekend. Heat - as much as I complain - is fine if it's not hanging with a dewpoint in the mid 60s+.
  6. Yeah I saw some posts about heat building next week. Hopefully you're right about the future being a bit cooler though. It's hot out today - I just walked back from the capitol and my I'm sweaty. It's about a 1/4 mile walk ...
  7. We were in Alaska in late May and it hit mid 70s every day essentially, and was bone dry. They were terrified of fires and they've already had many. Will be a long, rough summer for the NW which is incredibly dry and hot.
  8. Check out the MA thread - DC and environs got HAMMERED this morning with 6"+ rain. Tons of flooding, people having to be rescued on roads, etc. Bad stuff down there.
  9. You got hammered, as did the guys down in Adams County. A lot of that rain this past week missed the city, we did get an inch or so Saturday night and it rained last night but wasn't hard until this morning. The heavier stuff split the city last night, kind of neat watching that on radar.
  10. We rarely ever get good thunder. Tonight was A+.
  11. Susquehanna Twp apparently has a lot of trees down. The wife is huddled in the car but rain has reallllllllly lightened up so I told her she can go ahead and get in the security line, doors have opened now.
  12. The wife is leaving now to go to the New Kids on the Block show at Hershey Stadium Should be .... interesting
  13. Currently 89 / 74. Reminds me of Texas mornings.
  14. Wow. Radar has shown rain overhead here for 15 minutes but it’s not reaching the ground. (Edit: right after post8ngbit started to rain lightly fur a few minutes) It always might be 15 degrees above the average minimum temp tonight. It’s gross.
  15. This line hasn’t moved in 30 minutes. I can see rain from my house but nary a drop here lol
  16. Not sure if they’re selling it outside the home market but Field Study is excellent.
  17. Came in about 30 minutes ago from an hour weeding the side garden. I might as well have jumped in a swimming pool, you couldn’t have noticed any difference. Also I hate weeds and wish sometimes I didn’t care abut the earth and animals and just sprayed everything dead with around Up.
  18. 89 here, had .1” rain around noon but it’s all evaporated. Parts of York County is getting hammered.
  19. Storms have popped. They’re tiny but stationary so it rains until energy is gone. I could use rain, it’s pretty dry in the city. Hope one sits over us.
  20. Looks like early next week we get a break from the heatwave / afternoon pop up t-storms.
  21. Could be - will come close I think. It might rain that evening though to stop the max heat.
  22. Anyone with outdoor festivities for the 4th are gonna sweat a ton.
  23. Today will be even better, low 80s and lower humidity.
