Wow how weak. Gust to 30 or so was it. Rain is heavy but expected more - no convection either.
Edit: 10 mins after posting we did get convection. Nice thunder and a pretty vivid light show.
Looks like down in Franklin County they have gusts up to 70, headed pretty much right at harrisburg.
And moving at 50 mph. Like I says upthread, this is very similar to a Texas March setup.
Yeah, tonight looks like it'll wipe out a lot of the remaining foliage. It turned really pretty around here this week so sadly we'll miss a few more days (very late color this year, but I didn't expect much so it was a nice surprise).
This setup reminds me a bit of a Texas March setup actually - as weird as that sounds. Squall lines like this can be no joke. Usually they always underperform here but I have a weird feeling we get some good stuff tonight.
Can't really reschedule it - and I've never understood this area that has it on a Thursday regardless if that's the 31st or not. I've never heard of that until moving here and it makes no sense to me. If you're going to have it moved for safety, make it a Sunday afternoon.
Last I looked, iirc Wednesday, the Euro and GFS diverged greatly on late next week. Euro was above normal and GFS was below, and off by a good degree from one another.
Had 1.2" yesterday. Winds aren't quite what I expected, but the direction for once isn't one where it hits the broadside of my house so it could be deceptive.
The rain was much appreciated. Too late to recover a pretty leaf change unfortunately.
Just imagine if this were in January - this storm would be a blizzard for some. It's a pretty powerful Nor'easter. Oh sorry we call them bomb cyclones now apparently.
