    Off topic but people needs to be put in jail for the electrical grid failure. It's unfathomable they knew this was a problem, did nothing to address it, and just have punted down the road essentially.

    Guys pray for Texas. A nuclear plant is down and they already can’t generate enough electricity with it online. 1.4 million are without power (and it’s growing hourly) and it’s less than 15 degrees in a huge part of the state.

    Bad. 12” snow for my parents but power is out all over - go look at outage maps from DFW to Houston. My brother!s power has been out since 3 am and every sink has frozen pipes now. He left them dripping but they still froze solid. Parents might get to below zero tonight. Winds in the 20s too. Keep Texans in your thoughts. They and things there aren’t built for this.

    Parents measured 9” snow outside Longview. Pictures are insane.

    Meanwhile at my parents’ in East Texas it’s 8 degrees and they have 9” snow.

    IMO models can’t handle ice accretion well. NWS is much better at forecasting it.

    Monday looks disgusting. Maybe 1/2 of sleet mixed with freezing rain before it flips to plain rain. Nary a snowflake to be found, it seems

    If we get more than 4” snow by Friday it’ll be a miracle imo. Half of Texas gets a better winter week than us!

    If it helps no models have any idea what is happening here in central Pennsylvania the next 48 hours. They can’t handle these storms.
