  1. Wild they’re that high when everywhere else has been a bit lower. I understand north side might get stronger gusts but that’s interesting looking at other station. CTP’s new discussion mentions this.
  2. Winds aren’t mixing down for whatever reason nearly as much as forecast/modeled out west so we might not see anything major wind-wise after all. But someone needs probably hears thunder!
  3. Models are unpredictable 3 days out much less 3 weeks. Take all that with a grain of salt.
  4. 5. Looks like those won't be mixing to the surface here in PA, but a lot of mid to upper 40 gusts in the wee hours tomorrow am.
  6. Thinking about it, this might be the worst winter I've experienced here. I've had a bit more snow than two winters (a big rocking 10.2" holla) but those winters weren't ever cold. We've had ample cold this year - but any precip arrives to rush in warm air so it's not snow - or the southern stream just kills any precip while keeping us cold, then a storm cuts north and brings in warmth. It's a horrible pattern.
  7. Don't worry like everything else this year this will move 350 miles south before then.
  8. It is - double this for tomorrow night. It'll be windy until Saturday it appears.
  9. It’s amazing how everrrrrrrrrrrry storm books it south. We might get only 1/4 inch of rain - 2 days ago it was 1.5”
  10. If winds gust past 60 I hope my siding and fascia doesn’t blow off. That’ll do house damage to a lot of folks.
  11. CTP finally picking up the very strong winds Regarding Thursday`s highs, we`re still expecting them to reach the mid 50s-mid 60s range, with readings actually peaking during the evening hours, just ahead of the cold front. As for the winds, as the boundary layer warms into Thursday evening with steepening lapse rates up to the 900-850 mb layer, along with a maximizing low-level jet, widespread gusts of 45-55 mph seem likely, with even higher gusts still within the reasonable realm of possibilities.
  12. Yup - follows the trend we’ve seen since November and there don’t appear to be any pattern changes.
  13. Thursday's soaking rain looks like it'll be less than initially thought - more half an inch than 1-1.5". It also won't start until late Thursday afternoon, meaning temps might get up to 65 in the LSV.
  14. If you like wind, Wednesday evening to Friday morning will be exciting for you. Other than that, nada.
  15. Zero snow here - I have no shoveled piles anywhere either.
  16. Congratulations on the upcoming birth. Excited to know we'll have a new board member in 12 or so years!
  17. Might see wind headlines Thursday. Localized gusts over 50 look probable, and widespread 40-50 mph gusts look guaranteed Thursday into Friday.
  18. It's def a threat, but much more south of this area. No neg tilted trough and no real CAPE here. IIRC there was a pretty big severe outbreak around this time just south of the border too.
  19. Hoping this holds off until after 11 - out until then.
  20. Went for a long walk today - the river freed itself of ice around thr city remarkable quick. I wonder if there is a huge amount of ice near historic maytown now?
