Hey winter's dead but it's a least windy again!

No joke. Zero wind here or in Downingtown and it was really nice out with very little chill.

Went to Victory in Downingtown and set out in the patio. Beautiful day. Got home and did an hour of garden cleanup - getting ready for spring since we probably only get 2-3 more nights of actual bitter cold weather, if that. No arctic air anywhere in sight. 51 was my high. Felt great working outside on a long sleeve T-shirt.

Probably hits 50 at MDT the next 6 days. A few over 55 maybe even. The year of no winter minus like 6 days continues.

32 for the high. River has a skim of ice, which is impressive since it only got cold 36 hours ago.

Was on a flight back here from DFW in 2008 when they were flying the pencil jets (those trash ERJ-145s). Here we had an early winter storm and they were closing airports up the coast as conditions worsened. Thought we would get cancelled but they had to get the plane back here to the Piedmont base for a scheduled heavy check. Pilot came out to the gate and said it would be a rough, unpleasant flight and anyone that didn’t want to go would get a free hotel room and a flight the next day. Said there would be no flight attendant service for safety reasons I was alone and fairly newly married and wanted to get back to my wife - and not afraid of flying and love it so much - so jumped onboard. Probably from an hour and half until landing, it was a ride. Bins opened, luggage flew around. People were openly praying. Worst flight I’ve ever had and I’ve been on probably 500 or so.

12 was my low. Looks like MDT bottomed out at 14.

Is that euro run even possible? Looks very wonkly to bring snow north of 40.

Maybe if the winds were only a pedestrian 50 mph and not 110 …

Mt Washington has hit a -108 wind chill, newest low record for the U.S. it’s -46 with 109 mph wind gusts (97 sustained).

I took a tropopause fold once back in college and woke up in Matamoros.

Yup just had a 43 gust. Been windier today than in a while. CTP has really downloaded the wind in its discussions too.

Wind here hasn’t calmed down at all. Still lots of gusts to 35 and sustained around 25.

If you didn't know, when it's 24 and winds are blowing 35-40 mph it's a bit chilly.
